Yeah, but The Joshua Tree is timeless! ( and another clue )
There was a lawsuit over Bullet? I was unaware.

Ding ding ding! No there was no lawsuit but I always found it funny. Plus, the lyrics give some idea to our financial prosperity. I kid I kid! :D

'Bama. Nice second place try. That's one of my favorite sons let alone U2 songs. That, and basically the ''B" side of that album are greatly under appreciated.....
No back on topic.

Liberty youngest school in US history to reach 1 billion in cash + investments. What is next? Two billion? AAA rating? How long will the online program last? Thinking long term, what is our plan for after LUO dries up? Would be nice to see alumni start kicking in at that point as there should be quite a few of them retiring in the next ten years.

Easy now logic...all this is fine and good but we dont want to be spending money we dont have (like our government) just yet

How about just $1 billion in cash + investments.

The $1b number was a net worth number which includes LB&E. What Lib has done is amazing and I'm sure they will hit $1b mark in cash and investments sooner than you'd think. But the ‘09 990 (which I think accounts through June ‘10, could be wrong on that) showed that the LB&E totaled $400m. It's fair to guess that number has only gone up and probably still accounts for a little short of half our net worth.

BJ - I don't even know if you'll read this as you apparently have me on ignore, but do tell - where did I advocate spending more money? How can you logically explain your response to my post? Easy now? For what? Asking what our plans are after LUO dries up? And the government quote? I think 99% of people here are fiscally conservative - are we not aware our country has a deficit spending problem?

I didnt say that you were advocating spending more money per se, but youre getting ahead of yourself talking about 2 billion dollars and a AAA rating and what not. We JUST announced net assets of $1B. Its good to think ahead but remember. Just as great as its been for the school to grow not only physically but also financially, but its not all going to be smooth sailing so we need to remain sound with our planning and measured with our expectations.

Just to clarify, Liberty's cash and investments is running about the same as our net assets and should also top $1B in this calendar year or very early in the new year. As of June 30, 2012, net assets will be above $860M and cash and investments will be around $840M. Gross assets will be over $1.2B on that date. By December 31, 2012, forecasts show net assets slightly over $1B and cash and investments right at $1B. God has truly blessed this university! We are all very thankful.

Amazing...just think about where we were as little as 10 years ago. Unreal.
