So begins the toughest 4 game stretch of our season. 2 teams without a true identity, yet. Little surprised that we open as a 6.5 favorite.

My optimism is that last week was a good wake up to the importance of starting with energy. Love the whole “Flames Quarter” thing but I hope that we flip the script and make Flames Quarter a first 15 minute effort.

I feel like we have to get ahead early and make them play catch up. I agree that this game will be a good measure of who we are and what we can expect throughout the year. I hope I’m wrong but I see us 2-2 after the next 3 games. If that is true, this is the game we need to win!

Its CUSA payday for everyone else on Saturday.
CUSA teams are underdogs in all 9 matchups v FBS schools tomorrow. By an AVERAGE margin of 22 points!
Would be nice if there could be another CUSA victory other than UTEP over UT Martin

As for the game, would love to see what talent we have to move the ball through the air. I could see our scheme shifting that way for a few reasons:
JSU gave up over 300 yards passing last week and we may go easy on the RPO this week to keep Vasko upright. Lets see what that new stable of wideouts can do!

This game will certainly be won in the trenches. We know what JSU's gameplay will be - Run, and run some more. Gashed us last year with over 360 yards on the ground. That also have a stub in #4 Cook. We also gave up some big chunk yards last week. Our Depth on the DL will be tested. On O, our line has to be much better than last week. RT was a huge issue that needs a solution v. a much better team.

I trust this coaching staff and team to step up this week. Really think we see a marked improvement in execution that will be the difference this week. Flames 30 - Cocks 17. We cover
