i held off about 8 hours to post,

immediate thoughts that came to mind in this order,,,,,,,anger, frustration, bitterness, awkwardness, confused then peaceful.

When you think about this situation you can find each one of these elements.

-anger, because we were his only viable option to somewhat step out of his brothers shadow and make a name for himself
-frustration, because he betrays a coach who essentially gave the keys to the car to Seth when the big schools spat in his face and offered him walk on opportunites. Yet again our graduation rate takes a hit, and we have to reload again and rebuild a new team identity next year
-bitterness, because it's always easy to become bitter when you feel like your school has been used for the betterment of an individual
-awkwardness- because now he has to go to a school for the rest of a semester that he basically said isnt good enough for him.
-Confused- because he has been a great player for us this year, but he is not an elite acc talent. I (like most of us) have thought in the back of our minds all year that he is a tad overrated. I am not saying this to be mean spirited or hateful but his game reminds me a lot of Allen Iverson. He fills up the stat sheet every night, but he doesnt truly make others better.
-Peaceful-because this is just another example of the world we live in today that is all about me me me me me. There is no loyalty in sports today and we should have saw this coming. As guys have said earlier, if you dont want to be here, then please leave, dont make up phony answers to make yourself look good. Just pack up your things and move on.

All that being said I think Seth will score 10-14 ppg at a mid level acc school, probly NC State, Wake, or Clemson. He wont be all that revered at his new school. Maybe that's what he wants, his actions certainly dont display a team first guy. He will be a small fish in a big pond depending on his choice. I dont doubt for a second that he already knows where he is going. In fact truth be told, Dell's phone has probably been blowing up all year from these coaches (feelers) puttting out interest. This kind of thing happens all the time now

I guess my biggest problem is that I thought he and his family were better than this. Something about this whole thing just feels kind of dirty I guess is the word for it. THat being said I wish them the best but I also feel a bit betrayed. For all those worried Liberty will still field a team next year haha

:clapping I like you. you can stay.
Thanks bro. Sly gave me the heads up about this board on AGS. Good folk around here.

Y'all have been royally crapped upon, in addition to what I already said, wouldn't it be sweet for you guys to go to the big dance, while poor little Seth gets to play in the CIT or NIT again at best?

I say pretty boy ends up at UNCC or USC. Lutz and Horn are just dirty enough to pull a stunt like this.

Well what else can I say. Yeah no one wants to believe this thread. We have gained a lot of attention this year thanks to Seth. I think it may hurt us from landing another big recruit (how often does that happen though). I am sure big brother or dad had a lot to do with this decision. The VMI transfer seens very similar but we shall see how it turns out for Seth. Maybe he does want better competition but if you can play you can play. It isn't that Liberty hasn't had athletes go pro before. Bigger school is not always the answer.

Got the text from Horrez as I was driving home today and thought he was joking. Saw the hints at it here, but everything up until the last few weeks made me think that Seth and LU were a good match.

We all know the Big South isn't the strongest league in the country, but if he's leaving because he thinks he can't go to the next level from this league, then I think he's mistaken. There are NBA starters this year from Austin Peay, Rider, Western Carolina, Detroit Mercy, Louisiana Tech, Virginia Union, Eastern Washington, and Florida International, and key bench players from Shaw, College of Charleston, Northeastern, Cal State-Fullerton, and IUPUI. Is it easy to get to the league from a Big South (or similar conference) school? Of course not, but changing the name of your jersey from Liberty to Wake Forest (or whatever) doesn't give you a ticket to the league. If you can play, you can play, and you'll get found. Now if he didn't enjoy himself at LU, that's one thing, but he just makes himself sound like the league and the level of play at LU and the Big South are beneath him. He's a good player, but he has some holes in his game and good perimeter defensive teams like WU, PC, and HPU all gave him a tough time (lots of 5 for 17 type of nights against those teams). So if he expects to be able to step in anywhere else and get the number of touches and shots that he got at LU, then he's probably in for a rude awakening. I get a sour taste from this move, and I'm not even an LU fan. I understand transfers happen, and I understand when people have a desire to better themselves (and I think that's his intention), but I just don't know if he's going about it in the best way.

I should clarify one thing I said, I dont think the family is horrible by any means, This just seems to a bit of a under handed move to the only school that gave their son an opportunity that they wanted for him. Obviously they didnt dream that he would go to LU, it wouldve been a bigger school, but still just no loyalty just bothers me for some reason

I said this in the other thread but i'll say it again, Man you know one thing i learned today? There are more competent Big south fans out there then i thought. The guys that came over to the board and defended the big south and even LU we really appreciate it. ya'll are a class act. Sometimes we get fans on here that like to promote their own agenda in bashing the school while promoting their own but today everyone especially those from WU, GW and UNCA contributed and even sympathized with us in our delima today. Thanks guys its good to know you guys are out there. Stick around and come find us if you ever come to the Vines or the Bill for a basketball or football game. oh and.... no homo. just in case haha

Yeah, it's a shame because he worked hard to make the team, but I just don't think he fits in the way he wanted to or that coach wants him too.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him or one or two other guys go (not all at once, just as possibilities). And I would hate to see any of them go, honestly, but at this point it's just kind of the way the game is played. I love Johnny, I remember him sitting as a fan cheering on the team last season and just thinking what a heart and passion for the game he had.

So we find it appropriate to run players off yet call them the tinman when a performing talent decides to exit. And Loyalty and Intregrity are hurled thing spears at those who no longer desire to be Flames under this staff. This is shock and awe with the damages to be determined next BSC. Many seems to think we will better our 4th, 3rd place finishes

This happens under this staff as well as the staff that is currently in your ear.....remember David Dees? A new name isnt needed though, we've come to embrace your hater attitude towards everything going on up here!

I don't think anyone, including myself, is advocating that we run anyone off, but...

Seth did to LU what you are saying we "have done" to Johnny. If it works one way, it works the other. Scholarships are year-to-year things these days. If you don't feel like the other party is doing what it needs to, you bail. That's how life works these days.

Plus, you need to work on your grammar and word choice a bit. You have a lot of typos that just make you look bad.

I dont think McKay just ran people off. More than likely it has been discussed with Stephene and it wasnt some shock and awe event to him. At the same time, when did McKay call seth the tinman? Sure plenty of us (myself included) have turned against Curry today, but you can also go back and look, im pretty sure no one on here was saying "we need to get rid of johnny"

And what TTL said. Alot of your post was incoherent rambling that never came close to any sort of answer. Every person who read it is now dumber. May God have mercy on your soul.

Wow, baby Seth didn't get to pad his stats to his liking or make the NCAA tournament so he took his ball and went home.

There have been better players in the past from LU and the conference and there will be better players in the future for LU and the conference.

True competitors who are good enough to make the league don't throw their teammates and opponents under the bus for their shortcomings. They accept their failure and compete harder to achieve success. Seth is taking the cop out.

You guys are so much better off and so much above this crap its not even funny.

The other things have been said but I'll repeat them. If Seth is too good for this conference, why didn't he take his team to the NCAA? If he was getting so many double teams and focus, why couldn't he give the ball up to the open man and make his teammates better? Why did he have so many nights shooting something like 5-18?

You guys will come out of this smelling like roses. Even if Seth had the talent, it is apparent he does not have the character to be a champion or a pro.
