Got the text from Horrez as I was driving home today and thought he was joking. Saw the hints at it here, but everything up until the last few weeks made me think that Seth and LU were a good match.
We all know the Big South isn't the strongest league in the country, but if he's leaving because he thinks he can't go to the next level from this league, then I think he's mistaken. There are NBA starters this year from Austin Peay, Rider, Western Carolina, Detroit Mercy, Louisiana Tech, Virginia Union, Eastern Washington, and Florida International, and key bench players from Shaw, College of Charleston, Northeastern, Cal State-Fullerton, and IUPUI. Is it easy to get to the league from a Big South (or similar conference) school? Of course not, but changing the name of your jersey from Liberty to Wake Forest (or whatever) doesn't give you a ticket to the league. If you can play, you can play, and you'll get found. Now if he didn't enjoy himself at LU, that's one thing, but he just makes himself sound like the league and the level of play at LU and the Big South are beneath him. He's a good player, but he has some holes in his game and good perimeter defensive teams like WU, PC, and HPU all gave him a tough time (lots of 5 for 17 type of nights against those teams). So if he expects to be able to step in anywhere else and get the number of touches and shots that he got at LU, then he's probably in for a rude awakening. I get a sour taste from this move, and I'm not even an LU fan. I understand transfers happen, and I understand when people have a desire to better themselves (and I think that's his intention), but I just don't know if he's going about it in the best way.
