I don't know if you have seen the horrendous footage of that deadly Indycar crash at Homestead today, but its awful.

I gave media training to Paul Dana in Indianpolis just a couple of weeks ago. He was a bright guy who was seriously excited about this season racing for Rahal-Letterman Racing where he was considered a favorite for the circuit's Rookie of the Year honors afte rmissing most of last year due to injury.

My prayers go out to his family.

Just hate to see that kind of thing happen to someone so young and promising. Thoughts and prayers go out.

Carlenter is in serious condition and Dana is dead. He was married but I don't believe Paul had any kids. Truly tragic day.

that was absolutely brutal.

Hopefully, as with any fatality in the sport of racing- some good will come out of this in the form of safety innovation, communications upgrades- something.

quite a tragedy for such a young guy.

Medic, I don't think there's anything you can change out of that. The Rahal-Letterman crew said that the spotters were telling him about the wreck and the caution lights were on. There was no reason he should've been going that fast. I'm not, by any means, saying it was his fault. I just don't know what can be changed as a result of this. If you're going 175 miles per hour with your head sticking out of the top of a car and run straight through another car, it's going to be ugly. If something good can come out of it I hope it does, I just can't see anything.

The fact the driver who was run into is still alive is beyond belief to me.

As for Dana not slowing down, we may never know what was going on. It could've been a communications equipment problem. Who knows? But placing all the blame on a dead guy who can't defend himself is extremely bad form.

I wasn't blaming him at all. I just said there was no reason for him going that fast and there's no explanation for why he was going that fast.

I wasn't referring to you, SJ. I was talking about all of the IndyCar people rushing to avoid controversy pointing their fingers at Paul.
