I mean he’s not wrong. We’re not tall, long and athletic enough to defend their much taller and athletic guards and forwards.

The one way we can beat them is not working tonight, the threes. We’re getting good looks but it’s the wrong night to be off.

Rushed. Not in rhythm. Credit to Oregon for that.

Stating facts. You don’t like facts?
I love facts. And you’re spot on.

But we all know your game. All negative. Calling for the coaches to be fired before the night is done.

See, I can state facts, too.

It’s unfortunate this game is playing out how it is but this is an Oregon team that was ranked in the top 10 at one point before having a bad month from late January into early February. They then figured it out again and won 8 of their last 9 games in the big ten. This isn’t your ordinary 5 seed. And again, we had to travel 2k+ miles for a 10:26pm tip off. We can downplay it all we want but these things matter.

The first half of what you said matters a whole lot more than the second half. Oregon is just freakin good.

He's not lying though. Seems like folks here are comfortable with just making a tourney but not progressing in the tourney each season. The old way of building a program is over with, yet some folks cling on to that ideology and hoping for a different result. Some folks might call that insanity.

He is correct.
No one here is comfortable with the status quo.
The game has indeed changed.
No one here is clinging to the old.

This program is trending upwards.
Just won reg season and tourney in the toughest conference of which it’s ever been a member.
This staff has shown a total willingness to adapt.

To suggest changing the head coach is necessary to continue this upward trajectory is ignorant and smacks of agenda or ulterior motive.

Edit to add: Robbie Hummel and Jalen Rose agree.

Still trying to figure out where he said that in this thread in regard to RMK.

Great season!
This team played over their abilities
The only criticism I have of this game is that it seemed they let the opening 2 minutes deflate them. Other than Cleveland, no one else was shooting with confidence.

Decker seems to have that shot hunting that will play well moving forward.

Then why make that statement? Gotta love the internet man :D
You’re around here a lot, and you’re very smart. Certainly much smarter than this. You can figure it out. Intentionally obtuse is not a good look, especially for an intelligent person like you.

I just think it's funny how folks pick and choose what is obtuse or wrong when it doesn't fit their bias opinion. As Arthur Schopenhauer puts it (allegedly), "What the herd hates most is the one who
thinks differently; it is not so much the opinion
itself, but the audacity of wanting to think for
themselves, something that they do not know
how to do." I see countless repetitive remarks here but it's not pointed out when it fits a collective bias. Not even choosing a side, I see the cliques in these forums and it's laughable. Don't need much intelligence to gm figure that out; it only took me a day when I first joined years ago. It is what it is

If you think suggesting a coach should lose his/her job is thinking differently, maybe you’ve spent less time around this and/or other message boards than I thought. (And you’re probably better for it, so good on you!)

I never expressed of getting rid of McKay. Too many assumption from angry people here. I made it known that Green from WBB should be replaced but not McKay. My frustration are the small guards that are mismatched against better teams. How many times Porter dribble penetrated to the basket and could not convert to points. At times he was one on one with his defender and he could not convert. He only tried like once and he could not score. Same thing for Mayheny because they are undersized. Then, on defense, they could not keep up.

Disappointed that we were not more competitive, but the idea that somehow the program is stagnating is not consistent with the facts.

Playing in just our second year in a conference which is head and shoulders above where we had been for the past 30 plus years, we won both regular season and tournament championships. I suspect our CUSA competitors do not see us as a stagnant program.

Without accusing the selection committee of bias, I believe it is hard to dispute that both our opponent and the site for this game presented us with challenges far greater than a typical 5/12 seed matchup. Oregon is really good. Their upcoming matchup against AZ should be a great game.

For whoever it was who pulled out the overused "definition of insanity" trope, here is my question. What is it you think we should be doing differently? You can say we need bigger and more athletic players, but do we pursue that at any cost, both financially and in terms of our mission and culture? I have seen us try going down that path before, and the results were disappointing both on and off the court.

It is possible we could speed up the progress that is CLEARLY BEING MADE by dipping into the financial abundance we have been blessed with to persuade some more talented players to come to Liberty, On it's face, I have no issue with that, but we would be fooling ourselves not to acknowledge the slippery slope that could lead to. As a 50 year fan of LBC/LU spurts, I will be more than happy to see us continue our current trajectory while glorifying God in how we pursue it.
