If you go read the transcripts from each of our games, HCJC says something similar about all of the issues we've faced this year. "It's on me..." or "we need to huddle with the coaches and figure it out", etc. We've struggled with the same issues ALL year and we get the same transcript game after game. Undisciplined play. No fire. Bad play calling. Not using Cooley enough. Starting slow. To me it's getting tiresome. JUST when you think the team is ready to go after a defensive stop and then an opening TD drive, the defense comes out and lays an egg on two consecutive KSU possessions and our offense shoots itself in the foot. Also, all of the guys that keep committing these stupid dead ball fouls / unsportsmanlike conduct penalties are starting upperclassmen. That is insane.
What I am worried about is that the reason we have heard the whole "it's on me" line several games in a row here now is that HCJC doesn't know what to do about the problems this team is facing. There appears to be no X. Gadlin on this team for him to rely on in the locker room. So what does he do to wake them up? Words aren't enough anymore. I get it, we're 5-1 and we've had a great run so far with HCJC. But this team right now does not seem like a 5-1 team. We're 3-3 at best.
