There are plenty of excuses I could come up with but I think 90% of it is locker room/team culture issues. There were reports about it being an issue as early as fall training camp but I think everyone kind of shrugged it off hoping it would fix itself over time but it hasn't.

JAX State played a lackluster first half tonight vs MTSU, leading only 14-10. But they came out in 3rd quarter and put 21 on scoreboard to take control of game. That's what we should have done.

JAX State won 42-20.

This team has 0 leadership on the field. No player has stepped up to lead the team. Last year you had that. This year you have complacency. That was fine when they were winning. But Ray Charles could have shown Helen Keller this was coming. This year the team always did just enough to win. No more no less..l until last night. Something drastic needed to be done to shake these guys up and it did not happen. After all they are winning.
I did hear them say that the KSU QB was benched last game. He came out last night and played great. When you look at all the penalties and undisciplined play you have to ask yourself who is holding the players accountable ? The players? The coaches? There’s a lesson to be learned from the KSU staff. Even Bobby Knight knew this.

Couldn’t agree more PH! Flat, flat, flat! It shows up with a lack of execution on both sides-even the footwork of KS leaves a lot to be desired. Some terrible passes into the flat.

I just read the press conference transcripts. HCJC gets it. I like how he doesn’t throw players under the bus but takes responsibility. That’s good coaching. What we need to see though is words turned into actions. What actions are going to take place to correct the issues

If you go read the transcripts from each of our games, HCJC says something similar about all of the issues we've faced this year. "It's on me..." or "we need to huddle with the coaches and figure it out", etc. We've struggled with the same issues ALL year and we get the same transcript game after game. Undisciplined play. No fire. Bad play calling. Not using Cooley enough. Starting slow. To me it's getting tiresome. JUST when you think the team is ready to go after a defensive stop and then an opening TD drive, the defense comes out and lays an egg on two consecutive KSU possessions and our offense shoots itself in the foot. Also, all of the guys that keep committing these stupid dead ball fouls / unsportsmanlike conduct penalties are starting upperclassmen. That is insane.

What I am worried about is that the reason we have heard the whole "it's on me" line several games in a row here now is that HCJC doesn't know what to do about the problems this team is facing. There appears to be no X. Gadlin on this team for him to rely on in the locker room. So what does he do to wake them up? Words aren't enough anymore. I get it, we're 5-1 and we've had a great run so far with HCJC. But this team right now does not seem like a 5-1 team. We're 3-3 at best.

I blame most (not all) of the 10 and 15 yard yellow flags on bad refs. Face it, the refs can call something on every play, but those "something" calls seem to always go against us.

When the “something” calls go heavily against us every game all season…it’s not the refs.

He knows what he needs to do. It’s whether or not he has the fortitude to do it. I posted a perfect video that describes what needs to be done :D

Refs weren’t bad last night.

And when ot happens game after game, it’s Liberty. Either they’re doing it, or they’re failing to adjust to the way the refs are calling it.

Stop making excuses, bc. Refs aren’t even close to the problem.

The late hit on the QB was a good call. Do you have specific calls you disagree with or are you spouting your usual nonsense

Definitely some questionable calls. But Kennesaw's defense did an impressive job against our running game. They held our running backs to just 90 yards, with Cooley only contributing around 30 yard.

We played one game between Sept 21st and October 23rd. I'm not sure how coaches successfully prep for something like that.

Our schedule is horrible for many reason. As a fan I even lost a lot of enthusiasm with these midweek, October games. Hopfully we can regroup and finish strong.

At a key point in the game. One of our receivers was interfered with on a long pass and and it was not called.

Probably the worst loss in LU football history (5-0 v. 0-6). Our record against 4 of the 5 worst teams in all FBS is 4-1, all nail biters. Coach in his post game presser said "maybe we're just not that good". After 6 games of play, just maybe!

We're startig at 1.5 favorite against JSU. My guess that will change before the week is out.

From my quick recollection of iffy calls...
1. the PI on Oliver during the 4th &10 play - extended the drive that led to a KS TD. That was not a strong flag. What made it an egregious call was that they didn't flag an obvious PI on KSU on 4th down try of LU's in the first half.
2. The hold call on the Austin kick return in the 2nd half. Lost 35+ yards, seemed to be a weak flag from the replay. Might have called the wrong #? The drive resulted in a TO on downs at mid-field as opposed to points in a crucial time.
3. Multiple, awful spots by the LJ (for both sides)

All the other LU flags I though were legit. The late hit by Bazile might have been one of the dumbest things I have ever seen. It was 2 seconds late and made 0 sense. If you were to circle one play that sunk the ship, that was it. DUMB!

CUSA officiating has been < HS level the past 2 years but they did not cost us the game. Our energy, playcalling and arrogance as a team did that.

I wasn't even going to broach this topic because there's plenty to look at in the mirror for LU. The only call I think that was terrible or imbalanced was the PI against Oliver. There was a small bit of contact, but Oliver was on his hip and running stride-for-stride. Compare that call to the way more obvious PI that was NOT called against KSU earlier in the 1st Qtr on the deep ball to Mobley. The ball was slightly underthrown, and Mobley went up to adjust for it and the KSU DB just ran into him without even looking for the ball before the ball got there. These sorts of imbalances are an issue.
