Well got to Vines about 10 after 7, there was a line to the road to get tix. So I take my wife & kids to the Hanger to get something to eat- I figured I would wait until halftime to get in free. Call me cheap but by the time I would have got through the line it would have been almost hafl and could have got in for free, Well I got back when second half started and and they were still selling tickets. Knowing Liberty they probably had 1 person selling tickets. Anyway by the time I got home I saw the last 4 minutes on TV.

The last play call was terrible- throwing the ball in the backcourt with 3.8 seconds. We should have went inside when we had the ball w/ 45 seconds and Larry put up the 3. Someone said that there was only 6 seconds on the shot clock. Well that is enough time for Coastal to take the ball the length of the court against us. Had our chances but not our night. I hate it for Larry.

You have to feel for Larry though. I mean yes he probably should not have taken that last shot, but he has made a history of doing the impossible. I mean I never got to see him hit a game winning shot but I think Larry just thought he had one last bit of magic left after the busted play.

As I said before, that line from a Sheryl Crow song puts my feelings best (and I am not, nor have I been a "Dunton Hater" or "Dunton Kool-Aid Drinker")

Did anybody see what the VMI student's WWJD sign actually said? We were sitting across the court and couldn't read it. If the VMI people thought that the "West Point Rejects" was offensive, I'm interested to know what the WWJD sign said.

wow...I was working tonight and not at the game and was thinking about the game all night...I texted a couple friends to get score checks, but nobody texted me back...jerks....jk

anyways, I don't know what to say, I wasn't at the game so its really hard for me to say anything except for the fact that I am very disappointed.

It is always tough to beat a team three times in the same season and that made me worried...

I wanted us to at least make it to the championship game just for Larry really....he may have poor shot selection at times, but he has meant so much to this team, and I think his performance in the Big South Championship game back in 2004 will stick in my mind forever....

I know that Sly said keep the Coach D talk down til tomorrow...but its hard not to think about what will happen....I can't imagine he will be back....its hard enough to get student support as it is...if you bring Dunton back I can't see many students being too happy about that....

Wanted to stop by and tell everyone how impressed I am with this site as a fan base. The supporters of the team that lost this game were in for a very painful aftermath tonight, and you're handling it with no excuses and much grace.

That's what character is--you have much of which to be proud.

This country needs more schools like ours.

VMI's zone won the game (coaching move) for them and we never saw it coming. They scored less than 80 points and still beat us...that pretty much tells the tale. On a side note, we played zero defense all night long...that hurt out chances too.

I thought the key stat of the night was that VMI outscored Libery 17-8 on second chance points, as well as winning the rebound battle, 38-36.

That's just a head-scratcher, given last week's game in Lexington.

But I think the unsung hero was Rat Adam Lonon; his defensive effort on Blair when we were in the box-and-one was something no one expected.

Kinda quiet here tonight, I was hoping for some more fireworks. I now there isn't that much to do in Lynchburg on a Saturday night. How are the kool-aid sales tonight? Anyone doing a survey at Wal mart and Target on current stocking levels? Should get interesting.

I think we are all sort of in a catatonic state. Its one thing to have your season end. Its another to have it occur in such head scratching fashion. I'm trying to digest all of this before commenting any further.
