SOS is one element to look at, but you can't get carried away with it. The better teams usually have one of the lowest SOS's in their conference - because all the other teams get "SOS points" for playing them and they don't get those (because they can't play themselves).

CCG's should help all the top teams uptick a bit at the end though.

Way to cherry pick a stat. SOS has an inverse relationship with your overall rank. That means the higher a team is ranked, the more difficult it is to get a better SOS. A crappy team has the easiest path to a strong SOS because every single game they play is tough. Get it?

By the way, FL and A&M (both in the mighty mighty SEC) have WEAKER SOS than OSU. If you want to cherry pick, at least pick a stat that you can defend.

Their resume may not be. But they are one of the best four teams. Both can be true.

That said, every conference seems to have a small contingent - sometimes if just one school - running things:
Big 12 - Texas & Oklahoma
Big Ten - OSU
ACC - the NC B-ball schools
Pac12 - The CA schools
Etc

here is the thing about Ballcoach... He doesn't care. He likes the teams/conferences he likes, he dislikes the teams/conferences he dislikes.

After all, he is one of those saying that they should "abolish the P5/G5 distinction." Isn't the distinction a matter of "strength of schedule?"

I LOVE what Liberty has done this year. I LOVE our record (but wish we were 10-0). But lets be honest: We aint played anybody. Don't get me wrong: Beating VT was HUGE for us, but not because they "were a good team." (Hint: They weren't.)

To be devils advocate. Why play the games if we know who the top 4 are. I think teams that played a full schedule should be rewarded. Recruiting rankings tell you who has a shot to be in the playoff.

Its another subject but the dp show discusses quite a bit the other day and hes right. The g5 will never get a team in no matter what under the current structure. Freeze alluded to it once that only a few teams were playing for a title. The rest had no shot.

I don't think so. Only 4300 cadets and 4300 midshipman plus a few "insiders". I believe there have been some games where large stadiums operating on a % of capacity have had more.
