We caught lightning in a bottle - right time, right place, and we were the only school with stones big enough to give him a chance. If he leaves, his two years here were a win/win for everyone.
He has been out of college coaching for a few years now after being ousted at Baylor amid controversy, yet his name continues to surface in various forms on the coaching rumor mill (as it did with Liberty today). We probably have not heard or seen the last of Briles, but hiring him will come with extreme scrutiny and pushback. Also saw where McMurphy , Stadium, said Briles to Liberty if Freeze goes to Auburn.

I think this is a bad move for them. Gus a good coach. It just doesn't seem like a good time to throw that type of money around.

This year doesn’t count but he’d lose a year with the transfer unless they change the rules
