Punting was good.
Yes it was. Alves is pretty solid. FG/PAT was what i meant. Should have been more specific. Even with Probert, he and Lunsford rarely had KO having a potential for return, and FG/PAT were not quite as concerning.

Great win. Won the game in the trenches, where it is almost always won. The OL was outstanding. Monroe didn't make much of an impact on the game at all.
Still not a buyer on Mack, but getting closer. He made two big mistakes and is too easy to tackle, but he did play a pretty good game. He has definitely been "coached up". Hopefully, he will continue to improve. Like Pickett and #1 too. Both of them are quick and cut back with some authority.
Proud to be a Flame today.

Our boys bullied their D-Line. Really proud of their grit. Don't want to waste time nitpicking the issues that were obvious. Really proud of this effort and didn't see any major injuries.

The book has now been written on us for our next few opponents. But if we keep controlling the ball like today it won't matter.

Malik Willis reminds you of a G5 Lamar Jackson. He made really good throws, fell victim to couple of drops. Plays he made just wow. As Jon mentioned, Johnson is another Vince Redd. I want to give the secondary the benefit of the doubt. Injuries and playing freshman, I think they'll get better when they get healthy .

Great win against one of the better teams on our schedule. Willis is as good as advertised, and the defense seems to have shown that the Georgia Southern game wasn't a fluke. Really excited for this year. I think we can win the games we are supposed to win, and likely pull at least 1 upset against our 3 ACC opponents.

Outstanding game by Willis and offensive line! So much fun to have a mobile QB. On another note, could someone please speak to Alan York who consistently failed to tell us how many yards were gained on a play. Please tell us that first before going off on the incidentals.

If he wants a shot at pro ball to be the next Randall Cunningham or whoever .....
He NEEDS to carry that ball like he is in love with it.

Just wish we all could be there to support these young men.
And, we have Willis for 2, Two, dos, Zwei years.

Great win. Offensive line won the game. Willis and all the RB's ran very well. No turnovers.

Defensively, Durrell Johnson flashed. I thought we stopped the run well. Our pass rush at times was lacking and the secondary has to play better. WKU is not an offensive juggernaut and too many WR wide open.

Malik will get the headlines, rightfully so, but i was so impressed by everything about our running game. A lot of variety in our offense. If they can build on this, watch out. This year could be a lot of fun.

Love those white uni’s on tv.
Punt returns MUCH better.
kickoff coverage elite.
kick off returns solid
Defensive Coordinator - love him.
D Line - solid
Secondary - one major communication bust. Couple of great balls by their QB. Some small nit picks but pretty solid overall.
LB - need to analyze but first impression - so so.
RB’s - love Pickett, Love Shedro as a change up - love yelling at Mack then next play yelling for him ( he cuts left it’s a td vs a 4thAnd 3 that we don’t make and ball game over ). Quietly got 100 yards.
Receivers - we haven’t scratched the surface
Tight ends - expect a lot more production vs different types of D
O Line - wow. That is how you play big boy football.
Willis - ok now I am buying the hype.
We dodged 2 huge fumbles lost and I early “could have been a pick”.
Bottom line we looked like the best time and by a lot.
Penalties - couple of bailout calls especially the late PI
Coaching Staff - we lost a ton of production and are better game 1 than game 13 of last year. IMPRESsIVE.
Now stay focused - FIU has speed and athletes and a decent coach - don’t read the headlines and get better every week.

That's good... :D Overall stats in both games were very close. Both Louisville & LU had 487 total yards. Lu gave up 291 vs. Louisville's 248 yards. I like the fact that 343 of ours came on the ground. Malik show he could pass with a 61% completion rate with a few near misses. That should keep teams from crowding the box.

Heard this quote from an old LU alum before our church service this morning: Had Willis been eligible last season, "Buckshot would have never thrown a pass" in Coach Freeze's RPO offense.

I'm on board with Mack. I like his running style. He waits for his blocks to develop then accelerates. Mix his style with our quick hitting, speedy backs and a qb that runs and opponents will be off balance all day. This big OL and Mack are going to wear down most DL's. Man would I like to be 5-0 after Syracuse game.
