Alright, LU Armchair Coaches, let’s hear it theseason is here… :D How good—or how bad—are the Flames going to be this year? I know everyone on here already has the answers, despite never having been in the locker room, or on the sideline. So, let’s hear those expert predictions. How’s the season going to go? Study

Ugh...Able to log in and have to follow this bull crap.
Reminds me of the scene in Tombstone when Wyatt Earp takes the faro dealer (Billy Bob Thornton) out by his ear to resurrect the Oriental. Where you at Kurt Russell?

I am strangely confident. With the portal chaos at the G6 level, we are relatively stable in comparison to most of our CUSA and Sun Belt rivals. You may state that stability after last season would be a negative and you may be right. But I am curious how the core we have returning with some fresh blood gels ... particularly in these first couple of games. Call me foolhardy if you wish, but I am rather bullish heading into the JMU game.

Same. JMU is getting the benefit of the doubt from 2025 success but you cant hide that they lost nearly 80% of the production from last years squad. They are ranked #136 in return production! By comparison, LU is #49 with 62% of LY's production returning. Phil Steele is the better than anyone at predicted seasons success and his #1 metric is returning production. The portal seems to be about a wash between the 2.

It seems like a tough assignment to throw an entirely new team on the field and be game ready in week 1. We will see soon enough about how much higher of a floor JMU has than LU or if LU's resources have finally raised our ceiling. Regardless, this will be a fun start to the season.
