So many people in the LU community are just talking about so much. My phone has been buzzing all day long. It is insane. Is our school not capable of doing any damage control??
I spent 4 hours on campus today. Everything seemed to be functioning normal. Sure there was "small talk" and more phone calls than normal. But campus is still standing.
wait are you implying that the probably resignation of the president of the university because he likes to watch his wife get mushroom tattooed by a service worker isn't a big deal?

Your post makes things sound worse than they are. Bad situation, but the walls are still standing.

There is no way to make Jerry's situation sound any worse than it is for the school than he has done himself. If you don't see that then you're just in denial.

My point is all of the info just flowing out of campus about this sutafion and nobody is doing a thing to slow it down. A statement needs to be put out. The sooner the better.

That's what I'm hoping. No severance if he resigns, but depending on the contract there may not be one if they use the conduct unbecoming Avenue. Regardless I'm hoping it's not a sign that he is staying after all.

Falwell said in a brief phone interview Monday that he had told the Liberty Board of Trustees earlier in the summer that he needed a short break from work.
If that quote from the article claiming he’s not resigning, is true, and that’s the only reason the “board made a move” and was in fact not a move made by the board, then the entire board needs to be fired and how do we as alums make that happen? If his leave of absence was truly a request by Jr and not a BoT move than we have major issues.

At this point I don't believe anything he says.

According to a source who has a source who knows Jerry Prevo personally (take that for what you will), Prevo is actually a solid individual, so I would not lose complete faith in the board just yet.

He did not request a LOA. It's called CYA and he is not doing it very well. I believe the bored acted responsibly. They may have been a little slow on the uptake, but there are many reasons why. 8)

BINGO. There is so much false information in that article. (mostly the quotes, not that they were not quoted correctly, just the content ). There is zero chance that Jr. asked for or sought a sabbatical. Resignation would negate any contract "for cause" clause. IMHO.
