I agree with you Tyndal. The facilities are top notch! Beautiful!

LOVE that... And they could simple add on to what we have and not completely redo. That would be a shame to tear down that nice building.

Its actually not true that construction costs are still low. Really hasnt been for a couple years. The steel tariff has steel prices varying as much as 20 percent. Im working on a project now that required 1.7 mil. If it was ordered 1 week later it was 1.9. 2 months later was like 2.1 and they wouldnt quote any further out.

This is exactly what should be done. Their current expansion looks terrible in my opinion. They should have stuck with this.

This, or some variation thereof, has basically nothing to do with what they are doing now. It would be at the other end, replacing the existing FOC as part of the next phase.

Thanks for clarifying for me. I didn’t think I would have to spell that out lol.

I believe a lot of the equipment is state of the art, but it does look like it is time to upgrade when CCU's is bigger than ours :vomit . I know there is a tendency to say expand on what we have because it is relatively new, but that is seldom the efficient way to go unless the original building was specifically designed to be expanded. I'm pretty sure that's not the case here. They will probably tear it down and start from scratch.

One question that needs to be asked when comparing facilities to other schools is if those buildings are football only. If I recall correctly, Coastal’s facility is used by multiple sports. I’d imagine many other schools are similar.

This is true but its not just the size that is a difference. The bells and whistles are much more abundant in these facilities (minus CCU) also another thing I didn’t look into was locker rooms.

When the FOC was originally built, the players voted for a larger weight room in replace of the player’s lounge. Things have obviously changed in 13-14 years.

The locker room definitely isn’t big enough for FBS rosters.

The concrete is poured all the way around. Archways are taking shape. I see absolutely no way to fit food trucks inside the venue on game day.

Unpictured. The north tower is almost completely wrapped in brick. The steps on the upper deck all all poured and the railings are being staged.

Old red, to update on the cores being taken, they were actively acquiring one from the field side of the FOC this weekend.
