Dunton repaid that by bringing in some good players, and one important factor that no one isn't mentioning: a guy named Bob Davies as assistant coach. From what I've heard over the years was that Bob Davies really was the brains behind our winning at the beginning of Dunton's tenure. With that said, we have at least 3 options, if RD is on his way out:
Bottom line, there's still time to turn this thing around...it's still in RD's hands...he can change all of this with a few winsDo you really invision that happening this year? Maybe it's an unrealistic expectation, but if we don't finish at least second in the conference and place second in the tournament, I'd say it's time to look elsewhere for a head coach.

JF's comments in this article, to me, reiterate the fact that sometimes JF and the TRUTH are strangers. I will break it down thusly. He pretty much let light into the decisions over the last 30 years. Yep HE MADE THEM ALL. After denial after denial and after denial that he had ANYTHING to do with ANY hiring/firing decision in the athletic department or any budgeting responsibility he comes out and says "He feels he can hand over those decisisions now". It was a good lawyer who once said "Were you lying than? Or are you lying now?" He said he had NOTHING to do with Firing JM or MoHa or the hiring of SR. A nice case study and you don't even have to be a conspiracy theroist on this is how the firing of MH (MEL) was handled. Does anyone believe that he HAD to be fired THAT day and that the only way to get a hold of him was a piece of paper on his chair??? Let's see, based on what we just read was that an AD decision or a JF decision?
Secondly, what a slap in the face to all of the past AD's. He basically called them all incompotent boobs. Only HE knew what was best for the Athletic Department, not these mere mortals with whom their previous athletic experience pales in comparison to his great knowledge. Experience shows that these men were actually VERY compotent in what they were doing. One started an academic major in the field, one is a consultant in the field (OK He was also the 'mulligan' and we all get those) the other two are heading D1 athletic programs. Hmmmmmm. Yep, I guess these people knew how to run a D1 athletic department.
This is in NO WAY an admonishment of the current athletic administration. I think JB can do an OUTSTANDING job. But it leaves one to wonder what would have happened had the purse strings been opened and the freedom been given to previous administrations? I like the direction (For the most part) this department is heading. (Notable exception: How many females are either staffers or coaches???) The "honeymoon" period has been good with all of the capital improvements, increase in funding, etc.
But, as the lawyer says "Was he lying then? or is he lying now?"
Thank you. We now return you to your regularly scheduled Should RD be fired? threads!!! Have a nice day. And yes, I do feel better having got that off my (rather manly, hairy) chest!!!

Hold My Own wrote: theres a reason they didnt have money...they chose to over look that part in the job description.I can tell you that "that part" was not in their job description. Without getting into who said what when, Brokeback has a legitimate point and I don't think he was knocking JB at all. LU Athletics has evolved to the point where everyone involved (how's that for diplomacy?) realizes that we need a DI AD and JB fits that bill.
