Exactly. The only way they would eliminate games if if they feel they can generate more total revenue by streamlining. In other words, if you can increase the net profist based on lower costs then you are talking the NBA's language. That's tough to manage. But it should be note dthat revenue from a typical playoff game can be substantially more than 2-3 regular season games.

I've never seen a "star" player as dispensable in the finals as Steph Curry is. Second straight year of him adding zero value to his team in the most important series of the year. Kind of odd for an "MVP."

Zero value is stretching it a bit but it is a bit puzzling.

Value doesn't equal stats.

He's averaging 22, 5, and 5. If that is zero value then I wish my Boston Celtics had some zero value players.

It's called the "Most Valuable Player" award, not the "Best Stats Award". A majority of his points have come at times when the game was already decided. That isn't value.

If not for Klay Thompson and the deepest bench in the history of the league, Cleveland would have won in five. Curry has had zero impact on this series.

OK - let's not be ridiculous. Curry has provided much in this series. Maybe he's not hitting 10-13 3's a game, but come on - the guy is contributing. Here's the issue. The Cavs are blanketing him 100% of the time - that is freeing up other players - and in the games they are losing - the others aren't doing enough to win and/or force the Cavs to change that strategy. AND - the biggest thing is the refs. The refs are the 6th defender on Curry - Irving, Shumpert, dele are all fouling him - EVERY PLAY. Watch them closely - Irving is wrapping his arms around him away from the ball, tugging at his jersey on every cut and others are blatantly hitting him when he's going through screens. And none of it is being called. I'm not saying it's the NBA trying to extend this series to 7 games, but wait, I am saying that - they did all they can to help this series go the distance. My guess - this next game will be called much differently and Curry will have the biggest game of his career.

But, let's stop the Curry is overrated talk - he's the second best player in these games. James has played really well - he deserves the MVP right now - win or lose.

The game was not rigged. It doesn't matter who ends up winning the championship because every year there are a group of people yelling, "CONSPIRACY!!". The Warriors have allowed Cleveland to do what they want and Cleveland has capitalized on it. Combine that with the fact shots just weren't falling like they normally do for the Warriors and this is the results.

I said at the beginning this was going to go 7. I began to doubt that once Golden State went up 3-1 but clearly Cleveland is hungry. Game 7 will be a lot of fun. I just wish I was in a time zone in which watching the game wouldn't mean sacraficing a lot of sleep. Decisions, descisions.

I can't say I disagree with you. Golden State plays on rhythm. With those flurry of early calls they were never able to get into one. Now the NBA will have the last game of the season on a weekend and Fathers Day. It's a big win for them

It's not about who wins - they don't care. But, NBA makes a lot of money by having this go 7 games. They definitely did all they could to push it to seven games. Green suspension, refs making some really poor calls that benefits Cavs...

The Green suspension was the right call. Had they suspended him 2 games like the Cavs wanted then I could see your point.

So does the NBA decide which years they want it to go 7? Why doesn't every finals go 7 if this is what the league wants in order to make more money?

It is just a stretch to say that it is rigged. This coming from someone that wants nothing more than to see Lebron lose again. I would've loved to see him get swept out of the playoffs...

"They' can set the table but that doesn't mean that everything will play out. The Green suspension is still iffy in my mind. Baby James is throwing elbows left and right, running people over and generally being every bit as cheap as Green. I'm still waiting for Tristan Thompson to set a legal screen or not grab a defender trying to get around him. It just reinforces why I don't follow the NBA very much anymore

I haven't watched most of the finals because I am overseas at the moment so it is really hard for me to judge anything I did not see live but judging by replays Green was going for a nut shot. He has had enough nut shots throughout the year that there is a compliation video floating around with all his nut shots. I can't feel bad for a guy who is suspended for doing what he does on a regular basis.

Ironically I haven't watched a lot of the Finals either because of work. Then last night the storm took out power for awhile.
Baby James deserved that nut shot. You step over a player like that, it's a pretty big deal and you need to be prepared for the consequences. Getting called the B word? Please. If Green had been doing it all year, why wait till game 5 to suspend him?
It's not referred to as the NBE for nothing. Ha

Thankfully after game 7, the season will be over. Then we can focus on baseball and upcoming football season. It's too hot for basketball.

He is thankful for Kyrie Irving. The Warriors just collapsed. They appeared to have no urgency in their game after going up 3-1. Cleveland outplayed them for sure. GS needs to add a player that can get them easy buckets in the paint. Either posting up or slashing.
