Not that I am biased or anything... but did I just read an article that had Coastal, G-W and Pres Football stadium experiences ranked higher than our FLAMES!

Can someone explain this to me, was the review strictly based on cost, value etc...or experience, I am just floored and confused reading this.

Might as well throw Monmouths, above us while their at it.

Saw that posted on another board last week. That is an absolute joke. I wish they would explain their criteria.

Actually, 4 BSC stadiums were rated ahead of the Bill: Coastal, Kennesaw St, Gardner Webb and Presby. Let's see when any of those venues get a sniff at prime time on ESPN. Kennesaw St. is probably the best of the lot, and they have a long way to go to approach what we have.

It looks like these people have made a legitimate effort to evaluate these places, but their system is deeply flawed. They actually have evaluators go to a game and their evaluations are fairly detailed, giving star ratings in various categories. The problem is, just looking at the 5 BSC schools I mentioned, there were 4 different people making the evaluations and it's obvious some "graded harder" than others. Jason Bullock, the guy who rated Liberty, was obviously impressed and spoke in glowing terms in the text of his report, but did not give as many stars as the other guys, and apparently the ranking is based on those stars. Here is his report:

To give an example of the disparity in scoring, in the "extras" category, our guy had very nice things to say, but only gave us 3 stars, while the Coastal guy awarded 5, mainly because of it being close to Myrtle Beach.

It's a good idea, but if they want to have any credibility, they need to do something to standardize the evaluator rating process. The way it is it is worse than useless. It is in fact a source of misinformation.

absolutely awful rating to be below ANY of the BSC schools and some others as well, They tried to be fair but unless the same person or two went to each school then everyone perception will be different.

Whoever did that "study" should be removed from whatever position they hold. Safe to say they probably never attended a game in any of the stadiums.

Well if they rated the nachos I can see why they rated LU so low

We did get a rating of 3 stars for concessions, which is pretty low.

That brings me to the other major flaw in their system. They give 1-5 star ratings in 7 categories, and ALL ARE WEIGHTED EQUALLY.

Food and Beverage
Atmosphere
Neighborhood
Fans
Access
Return on investment
"Extras"

What this means is that the 2 things that any college football fan knows make or break a game day experience; the fans and the atmosphere, don't count any more than how easy it is to get there, how nice the surrounding neighborhood is (and the vast majority are on college campuses anyway) the price of the tickets, or how good the nachos are. Conspicuous by it's absence is any rating for the stadium facility itself.
