FoxNews.com wrote:Cruz to deliver 'important speech' at Liberty University -- but aides mum on possible presidential bid announcement
Published March 20, 2015
FoxNews.com

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz is set to deliver an "important speech" at a Virginia university next week -- but aides were mum Friday on whether the potential 2016 presidential candidate will announce a bid.

Cruz will speak at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. on Monday afternoon, and Cruz PAC staff members are aggressively promoting the event. But they would not release further details to Fox News.

"Go to Lynchburg," Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier said.

If he is announcing his run for POTUS, you find a way to squeeze him into your schedule every single time. Few would suggest that we are going overboard in our political engagement these days compared to even a decade ago.
Dallas Morning News wrote:Cruz aides began spreading the word late Friday that the senator will speak at Liberty’s Monday morning convocation, though as of Saturday afternoon, the university had yet to publicize that. In January, the university scheduled Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe for that slot. Conflicting reports from Virginia news outlets suggested either that the governor had to change his schedule, creating an opening for Cruz, or that the university bumped him in favor of Cruz.

What does Bill Nye have to do with anything?

Liberty is conservative theologically and politically. If you don't like that, why come to Liberty? Cruz ain't my 1-5 choice for 2016. To be honest, I don't know how far down my list he would be... But I am still excited to have him come and speak.

I will also be excited for the governor to be rescheduled in the fall.

I would rather liberty shy away from politics but colleges and universities don't know how to do that whether conservative or liberal.

A major candidate announcing he is running for president is something that will have the national media focus on our school tomorrow. It will give us an opportunity to show out to folks who would not typically be exposed to what we have going down on the mountain.

The fact that he is from Houston is just the icing on the cake IMHO.

they already know we're conservative: it will be spun as more proof how closed minded we are

just more of "the big R" being shoved down everyone's throat

news flash: Christians don't all think in lock step with that particular party and I'll bet ya a sizable % of the kids down there don't either

I understand why liberty loves this kind of thing and the attention it gives. It just has always been the one thing I don't like.

What's the difference between a non- political speaker or a political speaker, with the media not trying to spin that were "close minded" or hateful?

If the stuff from Coffehouse last night was still in there, those pictures would look completely ridiculous.

"Cruz is going to make it tough for all of the candidates who are fighting to emerge as the champion of the anti-establishment wing of the party," said GOP strategist Kevin Madden. "That is starting to look like quite a scrum where lots of candidates will be throwing some sharp elbows."

“Make it stop! Make it stop! The Huff Po readers will be laughing at us! Whaa!”

AND WHO CARES?

Princeton grad, Harvard Law grad, national champion debater, more sharp after speaking 21 hours straight than Sen. Dick Durbin on his best days, I think Ted Cruz, who will give the biggest speech of his life and which will be replayed a million times, knows a little bit about public speaking and preparation.

It would be foolish NOT TO PREPARE!

Oh, look, an AP cameraman. He’s taking photos. And the Huffington Post writer takes those photos and combines them with a negative article that hurt the feelings of some insecure LU alumni.

“Oh, no! Not again! The cool kids are going to be making fun of us! Can we at least get some balance and have Dan Savage come and talk to us about butt plugs? We’d get mentioned on Huff Po’s LGBTQQUIA…. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Page! Then maybe they’d let us into their club!”

I hope Ted Cruz becomes President and the link with Liberty University is cemented just so he can annoy all you “appoint-for-us-a-king…..then-we-will-be-like-all-the-other-nations” types.

If you hadn’t noticed, the world’s going to Hell right now at an accelerated pace. Some people would like to make a few positive changes. I think Ted Cruz and like-minded Liberty University supporters deserve to have their voices heard whether it’s popular or not. (Hint: The speech nor the school will be portrayed well and the hit pieces are already half written by the critics before the speech is even given.)

It’s time for Christianettes to get over their phobias regarding the embarrassment of big hair, pastel polyester leisure suits, and the old-timey Gospel songs of the past. Why there was even some people who claimed to believe the Bible "from kiver to kiver!" They happened……and Christianity survived.

Embrace the ‘F’ word…..Own it, repurpose it, despite the Huff Po’s best efforts…..Let’s say it together….F-A-L-W-E-L-L

Ah, yes….there is a stirring.....there is still some Fundamental goodness in you. I can feel it. You can be turned from The Dark Side….

God bless Liberty University and God bless the USA! It's a great day to be ridiculed by the "right" people. :usa

Who's feelings were hurt? I saw the photos from the AP on Twitter and then linked to the first article I found that included the photos.

I couldn't care less what HuffPo says about us. I'm more concerned with us becoming Republican U every 2-3 years. That offends me much more than anything an article could ever say.

Article link on the front page of USAToday's website. I will not that Governor McAullife was slated to speak today, but he will be rescheduled. The school DOES give time to both sides if they want it, and Falwell asked former governor Tim Kaine to speak when all Kaine wanted to do was attend.

As for HuffPo, who cares...I check that site normally right before I check Drudgereport.
