No, we're having a problem with the stupidity of doing it in the first half of a game where your D has made 2 bad plays all day long. It's just a ridiculous decision. You absolutely don't chase points unless it's late in a close game or you're way behind and need to get as many points as possible on each score.
But how is it chasing points? There isn't a big difference being up 5 points or 6 points. But 7 points is another story
IT'S THE FIRST HALF! There is no situation in the first half of a football game, unless you're already down by 40, where going for 2 is anything other than wrong. It's a horrendously bad decision that shows our staff apparently doesn't have access to the same chart that every other team has. Do it to try and get up 7 with 5 minutes left in the game and it makes sense. Do it where you're down by 18 and can cut it to a two score game in the late 3rd or early 4th quarter and it makes sense. Do it when you're up by 5 before hafltime and you're giving away points for absolutely no reason at all. It's a terrible decision and it's one that someone needs to drill into Gill/Stamn ASAP.

The way I look at it, if you have a kicker who you have no confidence in then you go for two in the first half. Otherwise, no.

Especially when we make our two point conversions less than half the time, but the extra point is pretty much a given with Lunsford. I could understand it if we'd shown that we could score the two any time we want, or at least more often than not.

As bad as their kicking game is, the odds of them getting 2 FGs are really long. I would take the chance to get it to 7 as opposed to worrying about the difference between 5 and 6. We just need to execute better on our 2 point tries.

I like not being conservative. Fortune favors the bold and all that. To you're other point, it IS the first half so if you don't make it you can adjust.

And now our long snapper is out, making the kicking game more precarious. Just a really bad call that probably won't hurt us, as we're going to dominate the 2nd half for the 3rd straight week, but could put us in a bad spot for no reason at all.

Long snapper is hurt. Puts you in the spot of going for it on 4th more often now.

BTW, love how the staff starts working Macon into the mix in the 2nd half of games to really wear down the defense.
