As Ive stated before SJ, you would have fired every coach on campus after a big loss. You have zero faith, and no patience, guess what, No head coach in the country would come to your school if you were AD. So its fine if you want to Troll around here and fire all the headcoaches every season, just realize its not what you learned in "sports managment".
By the way, Please stop saying Rocco was pushed out for wins and losses. Him leaving had so much more to do with letting a crackhead with felony charges, suite up and play.
We can win this weekend, and if we do, and we make the playoffs for the first time in school history. Take breath roomates, the season isnt over.
1. I wasn't a manager. I did video and game film.
2. I invested 4 years of my life to this school and 3 1/2 to the football program. I fail to see how me being invested in the program backs up your argument in any way.
3. I think I very specifically said I didn't want to fire they head coach yet.
4. I have had faith every year since i knew this program actually existed. I just don't drink the Kool-aide when we habitually wet the bed every year. I know we can still win this game. "any given Saturday". I get it. but from where I'm sitting its going to take one heck of an effort. And our track record in games that REALLY matter is pretty bad.
5. I know exactly what I learned in Sport Management. I also know what I learned during my Masters in Sports Admin. Yes I know you don't send heads rolling every time you get frustrated. HOWEVER, Complacency in an athletic department and more specifically a football program breeds contempt. I've held back my contempt for several years. Forgive me for not being satisfied with the status quo.
6. SJ: "It's possible to find out information about how people act, lead, and run their programs that points to future success. The things I've found out about Gill point to us being just above .500 every year. He's in year three. Moglia started with less and has done more. He's 17-13 against Division I schools and we're not getting better."
This. Its very possible to figure out the inner workings of a football program if you ask the right questions to the right people. from the things i've learned it doesn't look like its getting any better.
That being said I'd like to see what Gill can do next year. I don't want to fire him yet. My opinion may change if we get our breaks beat off by 45 this week but for now I'd like to see if we can get over the hump next year. OR maybe even this year.
