We pulled away late otherwise they stayed with us most of the game.

Not many at the girls' game, but the Vines was PACKED for the guys' game. Official attendance was 4352, but it looked like even more. Lots of activity on the concourse with Dunkin' Donuts, a new photo booth, a T-shirt give away, and a new car on display that a student can win with 3 shots--a layup, a free throw, and a half court shot.

Our team looks so much quicker and more athletic. Both centers played with their backs to the basket and displayed strong post moves, esp. in the second half. We haven't had two 6'10" centers on the team this athletic in more than a decade. Also, our 2-guard Moller is very quick, but I'm surprised that he didn't score more tonight.

And 3 of our new bench players had 20 or more minutes of playing time tonight--Andoh, Reid, and Moller.

Moller is actually a starter, but our bench played more minutes last night than the 5 starters did. All 13 available players saw time (Talbert didn't dress with his back problems) and only the 2 Freshmen PGs didn't score.

I wonder if Talbert would be given a redshirt given the depth at the 3 and 4 positions.

I don't think they want to redshirt Talbert, but the injury may be the deciding factor in that decision. Remains to be seen.

I don't think there is any way they redshirt Talbert if he is healthy. We are already entering the season one schollie short, which is a first for Layer. Ezra brings some things to the table our other forwards don't. He will be in the rotation and contribute if he is cleared to play.

How many do we think are going to be in the rotation? Retic, Moller, Gielo, Smith, Johnson, Reid, T Johnson, Andoh, Maxwell. That's 9 already. I think Layer or Kemrite is next in line.

I was referring to the rotation at the 3 and 4, and if healthy, Talbert is a better offensive player than Theo Johnson. His ability to pull up and shoot his jumper off the pass or the dribble with a hand in his face is better than any other big we have, including Gielo.

I don't know but you can't play 13 every night that's for sure. I'll take a guess:

Starters
Retook
Moller
Gielo
Smith
Johnson

Bench
Andoh -4
Reid-3,2
Layer-2,1
Theo Johnson 3,4

Add Maxwell as the primary backup at the 5. I doubt Layer will play any at PG. He, Reid and Kemrite will all be competing for about 20 minutes a game at the 2 when Moller is either sitting or playing the point when Retic comes out. A healthy Talbert would compete with Theo, Andoh and Reid for backup minutes at the 3/4. Yes, that is 12, and yes that is a lot, but I do think even as the season progresses we will still have at least a 9 man rotation.
