I'm terrible at posting Twitter on FF but I saw this from FN:
One source cites the Liberty & Sun Belt deal has come to details, most of those details have to do with TV rights. Another independent source confirms this and states there are a lot of discussions surrounding how LFSN would operate in the SBC.
Two questions.

1. If this is true, we still wouldn't know until May, correct?

2. What kind of "source" is disclosing these details to the guys at FlamesNation? Please don't take offense to this Manson, just understand that I question everything.

Oh I don't take offense to it, you should question everything. Just know I'm not posting/tweeting anything unless I trust who told me. I was first told by someone who works for Liberty and then someone who has no connection to Liberty verified what I heard to Duke.

This doesn't mean we're in, just means talks have progressed to details. I was also told this morning by this same LU source that they believe there is a 75% we get in by the June deadline.

And it sounds like LFSN is NOT a positive for us. May even be a hindrance.

That's interesting to say the least.

I would think that's an asset unless the Sun Belt Presidents are scared of it, they get more exposure through that. I wonder what their problem with LFSN actually is and what we would have to offer to fix that problem. I would think maybe helping the other schools start their own networks, or giving them discounted/free advertising should be enough.

Don't most conferences have their own network and dictate the production versus having a school that has a wider network than the conference? I wonder what role an FBS conference would want a member's own network to play.

I wonder if that applies to Olympic sports too. I guess we will black out our football games. Maybe they could be carried in the Lynchburg market.

Could simulcasting on RSNs(like the current deal with MASN in MD,DE,PA and Northern VA) be a loophole to that, or would that be still be broadcasting nationally.

Would dropping the network be that big of a deal if we get into the conference? Seems like a minor thing to give up for the FBS exposure we could potentially get with the move.

Modified certainly. But give up? Sun Belt Conference TV coverage is terrible. Hopeful, we can continue to grow and energize an increasingly national fan base without taking steps back. I'm confident we have the right team in place to negotiate a resolution that can better the conference without setting us back.

The SB deal with espn is terrible. I would hate that terrible deal to shut down LFSN. I would think our relationship with espn may help us a little. Still the news is very exciting to say the least.

A- do you even get the coffee reference
2- I already went with my prediction before you
C- we will be on TV regardless so its not really a wager
3 - wagering is sinful and something I never do

The fact you said 'dialogue' proves you have no clue about the coffee

As for LFSN that's between ESPN and SBC. I'm sure we will abide by whatever they decide. LU wants in FBS so bad they'd probably leverage a non accredited degree program to a shady televangelist to get in

Our TV deal allows for teams to broadcast their games, but there are conditions.

1. The game cannot conflict with an ESPN generated SBC Broadcast
2. The feed must be offered to ESPN3
3. The game can only be televised in states in which an SBC Team resides, and states that border that state. (In football Idaho and New Mexico are added.)
4. States inside the SBC area are blacked out from ESPN3, and must watch LFSN for game feed
5. States outside the SBC area can only watch the game on ESPN3.

We signed this deal years ago when our idiot commissioner at the time decided he wanted to have a longer TV deal than what we had. It led to WKU leaving the league because it cost them a regional deal with Fox.
