I am also a fan of a number of other teams in various sports. Most of those are "home teams" of some sort or another.
I am a strong fan of Liberty University. Part of my love for Liberty is the vision that Doc stated over and over. That vision included using sports to reach people. That's great. I share that vision and look forward to seeing the grand vision actualized.
I do consider myself a "flames fan," but I will always prefer Alabama in my favorite sport: college football. In any other sport, I'd cheer for LU. I can't imagine Liberty playing at an SEC caliber level. I can't imagine Liberty beating BAMA, except in an APP State / Michigan scenario... Which would mean that BAMA would be in lean years. I've seen plenty of those days, and I expect to see them again. And I will remain a BAMA fan through and through.
There are a number of forum members who seem to have a greater love for Flames Athletics than for the University and it's mission. That's OK, but that's not me. I have nothing to be ashamed of in my love for my Alma Mater. But that's not going to stop me from being a BAMA fan. It's also not going to stop me from holding up a standard for what I think a great football team should look and act like. And yes, I cheer for Florida & Texas kids who choose to walk the Capstone. I even cheer for the smart kids who choose to leave "Big Ten" country to play in Dixie. Roll Tide Roll.

I'm sure it's more exciting for you to cheer for LSUs old coach and a bunch or Florida/Texas kids but hey they at least they put Bama shirts on for a couple years. My fandom has nothing to do with wins & losses. I have been an Alabama (football) fan for over 30 years... Since I was a little boy. I don't plan to stop. I'm pretty fair weather about any other sport.
Reality is Bama is no different then Texas LSU OSU or Neb.
