What I love is that we seem to struggle against in-state teams. No matter how well we do, we choke in-state at almost every sport (Women's BB surprised me with a win @ JMU). Just being negative.

This same William and Mary team beat Clemson 11-2. Give them credit they won. I knew this would be a toughgame. Liberty plays them again. Hopefully they can beat them in the rematch. Liberty has won nine games in a row. Liberty is a great team. I am proud to be a 2012 graduate. GO FLAMES!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a quick note - the new coach there is highly well respected and an excellent pitching guy. They will be a very tough battle every time for a while, even though the talent there is definitely not on the same level.

It will be very interesting to see how the guys rebound now and produce in the upcoming week. We have a tough SEC weekend series, W&M next week, along with UVA before conference starts. So here is what we are looking at - we can either head into conference at 13-4/12-5 or somewhere around there with a few more quality wins, or we can go on a small skid lose some close ball games and head into conference at 10-6/11-5. Not a huge difference, but these little stretches and finding ways to win close ball games against quality opponents is key for any college baseball team that has the talent and the right schedule to make a run at an at-large regional bid. Time to see what this team and staff can really do as they settle into some of the heart of the season and the excitement of opening weekends home and away are gone.
