Their school has been around a lot longer than we have, so they have a more established tradition. they had Stonewall Jackson. Plus, our guys were playing for second place and that's a lot of pressure. But in the end we were only 8-12 possessions from pulling this out.Plus they have a better baseball stadium.

He is leading us in scoring and assists and has a better assist to turnover ratio in BSC play than his brother had as a Junior when he was POY.That's sorta the point. When he dominates the ball, we don't fair very well.

He is the only player we have right now who looks like he has any confidence in his ability to challenge the other team and score, and guess what, he is doing just that, shooting a decent percentage for a 6 foot guard, getting to the line and making his free throws, and, did I mention, leading the team in assists with an assist/turnover ratio of almost 2/1 in conference play?olldflame wrote:Can we PLEASE stop blaming John Caleb Sanders for this team´s problems? I´m probably one of the bigger advocates of the 3 point shot on this board (supported McKay when a lot of guys were ripping him for relying too much on the 3) but to suggest that when you have an opponent who is hot from 3 the only way to win is to jack up a bunch of 3s yourself is simply inaccurate. We shot 19 3s and only made 4. Marshall was shooting airballs out there. Our problem last night was mostly defense. Too many open 3s and too many clear paths to the basket for dunks.
If one team scores on 3s and other team scores on 2s, who is gonna win ?

As for a PG? He drives me nuts. 2/1 assist ratio IN Conference is pretty pedestrian. Granted, A/TO ratio isn't the best way to judge a PG. Hes a nice complementary player.Purple Haize wrote:Do you actually think we would be a better team if JC just passed the ball around the perimeter like everyone else has been doing? ballcoach15 wrote:JC's strength is his 3 point shooting, same with Marshall. When other team has more talent, the 3 pointer can be an equalizer. LU needs to run an offense where they post a big man at FT line and down low, get him the ball, then throw it back out to Sanders/Marshall and fire away from behind the arc.I'm not sure we have the personnel to run a high low. But I agree, JC as a shooter makes good sense
I hate you Merry Christmas :D  May[…]
