Why waste him this year? He's got a redshirt available and if that means we get him back at 100% next season, why not? Thoughts?

He has to win this year and he's not holding anything back when BSC play starts. The BSC is not good this year, outside UNCA - so we still could compete (In theory)

Not saying they aren't good, but just thinking if we play great - we should be able to compete.prototype wrote:So Coastal beating Clemson isn't a big deal? While the North Division isn't turning any heads, the South Division has four teams ranked in the top 200 in the country. It's not as much of a cake walk as you're making it out to be.newnavy84 wrote:Why waste him this year? He's got a redshirt available and if that means we get him back at 100% next season, why not? I agree there are some good teams, but no one that I mark as a definite lose if we shoot above 35%. I'm just saying we have a better chance with Burris, than without him and I think Layer will do anything he can to prove that his young team is improving and having a senior with lots of experience against BSC schools will not hurt.prototype wrote:Gardner-Webb has been far and away the best team this year and Charleston Southern is rated the second best team in the conference. Marshall & Gielo are the closest thing we have to go to go guys. Burrus is really hobbling still. I guess conference play is a little under 2 weeks away but i'd be shocked if he plays soon the way he was hobbling.I have absolutely no clue as to Antwan's current state of health, and I'm not sure what you mean when you say "hobbled", but I would caution against jumping to conclusions based on observation of his movement on the sideline. I'm assuming he had a boot on. Nobody walks normally in a boot, even when they are pain free and only wearing it for precautionary reasons. If he still has significant pain from weight bearing, he would probably be on crutches.
