This looks like a different team from the Richmond game. They are confident and comfortable. The team appears way more athletic than recent years. I like the uptempo offense and aggressive defense. We have multiple three point threats compared to simply John Caleb last year.

Yikes, that was a bad 2nd half start.

The graphics, and overall production, for basketball games seems like a completely different school compared to football.

Got to take better care of the ball.

Once the lid comes off the basket, we'll be fine. Getting good shots, but nothing is going in right now.

Actually have height and athleticism, compared to last year... Scoring droughts gotta be a concern????

When teams make a big run like this 2nd half, this is where Jesse settled everyone down...

well coronado is pathetic inside besides grabbing a few rebounds. smith is athletic, but he has 1 made basket. nothing inside at all. if guards cant make jumpers, we are screwed

Finally getting some shots to go. It's too bad they were so cold to start the 2nd half as we've been the better team for most of the game.

Figuring out the rotation for the guards is going to take a while. Coronado and Smith are both good passers for their size.

The biggest need is going to be someone who can consistently get to the line and make free throws.

Just a few quick thoughts:

- John Caleb should not be playing significant minutes at this point. He's a walking turnover, useless on the defensive end, and if he isn't making shots... he doesn't offer a whole lot.

- I hate, repeat, HATE, our offense. I started counting in the second half how many passes we had outside the arc - and we were averaging 4 passes before the ball ever made it in to the post or someone was able to get dribble penetration.

- Andrew Smith has a little Leo Lightborne in him. He's got some bounce!

- Roberts really carried us for a stretch in the second half. He's got a surprisingly quick first step.

- Loved Jourdan's intensity at the beginning of the game but he got somewhat lost towards the end or W&M's length started to bother him a little.

It's going to be a long year. Marshall was a solid addition, but we have no backup at PG at all. Agreed on Sanders, if he isn't making 3's he has no value at all. Donley is about the same player as Sanders. Coronado didn't show me anything other than some rebounding ability, I think Sommy is actually more advanced than he is. Andrew Smith and Jourdan show some promise. Burrus will help and maybe Gielo but it won't change the fact that we have no depth at guard or small forward. We will win a few games when Donley and Sanders hit some 3's, other than that it will be a lot of tonight. I think this will do Layer in.

1000% agree regarding the offense. I have not seen us play yet this year but last year it drove me crazy how we were in non-attack mode flirting around the outside of the perimeter without being a threat for such a high percentage of the shot clock. Someone at the game tonight described our offense as painful and that we routinely catch it with our momentum going away from the basket. I just don't understand what the style and purpose of it is - very easy to go cold for long stretches with this style.

I couldn't agree more with TDDance, especially with Sanders. I know his brother could ball, but legacy shouldn't earn you minutes. The kid has not shown anything this season. What is baffling to me is why he kept getting put in the game as soon as we would start to get something going. What is even more baffling is that we've heard good things about Larry Taylor and he gets put in with 5 seconds left, I do not get the philosophy with the guards one bit. Additionally, Marshall hit some good, tough shots tonight and he looked pretty good.

Jourdan continued to impress tonight. He looked really good at the first part of the game, but for some reason we got away from going to him in the 2nd half. In my opinion, we should have kept calling his number until someone showed they could stop him. This kid is looking like he is going to be something special.

Coronado looked good on the boards, but with the increased minutes tonight you could tell that he is not yet in game shape. He struggled to hold on to the ball and turned it over a good amount. Smith looked really good tonight. He played hard and had that nice dunk over the two Tribe defenders, not to mention solid defense and some good blocks. The kid has potential, he just needs to bulk up if h'e's going to be playing down there. Right now he's built almost like a big wing forward.

All in all, I couldn't help but think that this was a different team and that I am starting to feel good about Big South play coming. It was just going to be very difficult for us to maintain the level of play we did in the first half against a team like W&M. We have good pieces, and the dynamic should only get better with our team as the season progresses. I still don't like our offense, and I can't reiterate enough that Sanders does not deserve to be in the game as much as he is. The kid is frankly not helping us in the least. I don't think he should be starting or having the green light to penetrate as much as he is.
