With the number of TEs we have who can catch the ball, I want to see a 4 TE big set that shifts into a spread near the goal line at some point.

Its great to see them put things together and play well and not DOWN to their opposition. Nice change of pace not sweating it out for a win.

Even considering that the Blue Hose are awful, that was still a VERY impressive performance.

This was definitely much needed. We needed to build on the way we closed out last week and we did..with a vengeance. We are on a very good roll right now. Definitely liked what we got from AA and SCH today and even more so from Abnar once he got carries on offense.

The G-W game could be the start of a snowball effect going all the way to the SBU game

Great win for the team. The run game was fantastic, OL was solid. TE's performed well. Nice push by the DL. Enjoyed Gill's "been there done that" attitude after the game.

We needed this badly. I think the boys were relieved to get in the win column last week. We seemed much more relaxed.

Total domination. A well rounded game and great calls by the coaching staff and great execution by the players. PC was 117 out of 121 teams in rushing defense. I think they are now 122. I'm very worried about our kicking game. This is reminiscent of Kacere's kickoff's last year.

Gardner Webb escapes after Nazarine inexplicably goes for it on 4th down at their own 30 with a five point lead.

I would concur Chippy, but Sassaman hit the kicks that matter (which today were the PATs), so I can deal with not booming kickoffs 8 yards deep into the end zone

Man, where is everybody when we win. I know they stink and we should kill them, but we haven't crushed them like this in the past. You've got to give it to them, since that pooch kick that we screwed up to start the second half we have hit a higher gear. I think we really just needed to get that first win to get the pressure off. That was a curb stomp today. About as good as we have looked in a couple years.

I think his best kick went to the 12 or 13 yard line. That's when we started the pooch kicks to prevent the "big" runbacks. Lunsford has kicked almost half of his kickoffs completely out of the endzone. That saves a lot of wear and tear on the cover team and avoids injuries. I hope he's back at full strength for SBU. This is a tough first year for coach and character building for the team with all the injuries, especially to players the team depends on (2 All Americans and probably a future one).

2007 and 2009 say hello and would like to respectfully disagree (although if you meant in their place you should have specified)

We better loose again soon or we'll have to have TofC on suicide watch.

That was my first-ever Liberty Football game and first-ever visit to Liberty's campus when I was in 11th grade! My best friend played in the Marching Band so my Youth Pastor decided to take the high schoolers up for the game and Scaremare. Good times! It's crazy to think how much campus has changed since then.

And to take a turn off Memory Lane, I was encouraged by today's performance. It's the kind of production I'd love to see every game. I'm really hoping that 2nd half against GWU is the start of something special. Coastal and Stony Brook are going to be tough, but like Sly said in another thread, I think we have the potential to beat them. But just for my health, I'd prefer those games to go like today's went. Go Flames! Beat Concord!

Postgame wrap-up on a historic afternoon:
http://luflamesnation.blogspot.com/2012 ... ap-up.html
Liberty (2-4, 2-0 Big South) completely dominated Presbyterian (2-5, 0-2) from the opening whistle as they win 56-7. Flames Nation is much more accustomed to this type of score when facing Big South Opponents as Liberty improves to 2-0 in conference play for the 6th consecutive season and is 28-3 in its last 31 conference games. The 49 point margin of victory, is Liberty's largest in a Big South Conference game in school history.
