Lynchburg, VA - A Lynchburg pumpkin patch is getting a lot of attention for its inflatable slide for kids.

The 25 foot tall slide is not the problem - it's the tragedy it depicts. The slide on Smith's Pumpkin Patch on Fort Avenue represents the sinking of the Titanic, a horrible accident that killed more than 1,500 people.
As silly as this seems, I think Rev. Garra is a jerk for calling for a boycott. This is how these folks make a living. Luckily, I don't think anybody cares what he has to say.

Well, this is very cut and dry after the lessons I have learned here on FF the last few days. This is a non-fictional story therefore its likeness cannot be used. HOWEVER, if they were to change the name to the Titonic and make it into a fictional fairy tail everything is ok.

Problem sovled. Carry on.

We chatted with the family who runs the patch a couple of years ago and they went to LU around the time we did. What kills me is this actually made the fishwrap. Seriously?

When I first moved to Roanoke, they did a story on a goat that had been stolen...twice. Front page headline. Needless to say, I've moved on to civilization.

I am sure the slide doesn't depict the REAL Titanic. It just depicts the Leonardo DiCaprio film version that we all cheered when it went down.

I also recently learned that the T in the Virginia Tech sign was stolen during the GT game.

I miss the old small hometown paper where if you got a speeding ticket, you'd make the weekly police blog column. That was good reading. Seriously. Chances were you probably knew who the person was.
