In all seriousness, if the ACC wants 16 teams, I could see them going after Villanova or Georgetown. 14 football schools, 16 basketball schools.

Football is stable with 14 (7/7 divisions). The ACC is anticipating ND will eventually join for football as well. When/if that happens, then a 16th member would be invited - likely UConn. If ND stays indy in football, then the ACC makes no more moves.

The Big East shouldn't panic, its not like ND was a football playing member.I think that depends on what happens in the FBS playoff picture going forward. If it stays at 4 teams and conference championships play into the picture, then ND would join the ACC in football for sure. If the playoffs expand to 8 or 16, then the need for ND to join a football conference is diminished. In this case, they stay indy in football and renew their Notre Dame Broadcasting Channel contract. $$$$.

I can see them poaching CUSA, MAC, or Sun Belt (BYU or AF does nothing for us) and that having a trickle down affect on us but I can't see us jumping into the Big East at first....or can I

They now NEED to get out of the Big East to a stronger conference, and it's really hard for me to say that. But that's the only way they stay a consistently legit program.I wonder how hard they are lobbying the ACC about now...
Liberty University, about to be an FBS entity, ventures to Missoula .... the Flames of Liberty University, losers of their first two games, make the 2,300 mile trek to Missoula for the first time.
They're coming off a 7-4 (5-1) season and are headed for the Big East in two years.
