As for the first part of the article, if you dont like what I said, it got approved by my editor and by JLFJR (and a number of other people down the line) so though you see it as silly postie, those people (who's opinions I take a lot more seriously) didn't see it that way.
Beej, compare it to doing radio for a youth baseball league. It's a bit silly in reality. Does that make you silly? Well maybe. But in all honesty, what you cover makes no difference as long as you're getting paid and gaining experience.
There's value to reporting club sports that creates another facet of student satisfaction at the school, but that value is relevant to the players, friends and families of the players involved. It's not relevant to the average sports fan nor Dr. Falwell's vision of succeeding at the highest level of athletics.
Do they have a reporter for intramural sports? I'm assuming not. IMO there are a lot of things IMS could do to really enhance their setup.
