football is always going to have more % of tickets sold just on availablility alone. you have much less chance of going. to use that as some sort of basis is totally laughable.

It's actually not when you're charging $5.00 per game. What's laughable is major league baseball.

You paid twice as much to watch a 6-10 NFL team than you would to watch some top MLB teams. I'd bet the game you went to was against Washington, Buffalo or maybe Oakland...so not really a surprise.

Also, MLB is averaging an 8 T.V. rating for the World Series. NFL will have 10 games during a weekend beat that rating. That's 10 regular season games versus the MLB championship. The availability factor does play a part in the demand, however, MLB doesn't have to play 160 games. That's a borderline retarded amount of games. Why do they need to play twice as many as NHL and NBA? What's the basis for having that many games a season? It's clearly killing their popularity. Even college football has been getting better ratings than MLB.

I even had a class two weeks ago where the professor asked who was excited about the upcoming baseball season, not one one person raised their hand (this is a class of 200). He then asked if anyone in the class even liked baseball and two people raised their hand. 2 out of 200. Each Friday during football season last year, I can't even tell you how many NFL jersey's I saw, girls wearing them too. I've been around campus all day today and haven't seen one MLB jersey. Additionally, aside from flamefans, I haven't heard one person on campus discuss opening day being today.

Oh, really? Take one picture of some random person on campus wearing an MLB jersey and I'll find you and pay you $5. I tutor economics and the reason there is no demand for baseball is because there is too much supply. We'll agree there. Way more people would watch the sport if there wasn't a game every day for the next 6 months.

Indians and Blue Jays game is interesting. Heading into the 13'th, each team has had plenty of chances to win it but neither can. Blue Jays brought in 5 infielders to get the double play with the bases loaded, and Cabrera hit right into it.
