We are witnessing one of the most impressive phenoms any sport has ever seen. I just wish more American media would take notice. Lionel Messi has just tied (and by the time you read this has probably broken) the all-time scoring mark with his club, Barcelona. He has 232 goals. He's only 24.

I don't know if you guys ever catch any of Barcelona's games, but they exude excellence in every detail of the game, and none moreso than Messi. The team is full of amazing players and they're a lot of fun to watch. If you get a chance, watch this guy. It's incredible and people like this don't come along very often. It's also insane how humble the man is, given his star-power right now.

He's so good, at such a young age, that Pele has already felt the need to take a shot at him. That says a ton about just how big of a deal he is. I don't know if words like phenom or prodigy do enough to convey how talented he is and how well he's maximizing that talent.

I dont really have a favorite among the club soccer teams. I did have some interest in DC United back in the early days of MLS. I tend to watch more of the International Friendlies and the World Cup these days
