The refs cheated! The refs cheated! Crybaby

Stop your whining. Even if the refs were perfect, Syracuse still wins.

Tim Donaghy now looks likes a saint, at least he didn't blatantly screw over a team on national tv to earn his gambling money.

Add theft of an NCAA "Second" Round game to the list of violations piling up for Syracuse.
If they bet on the game they would have LOST money because Syracuse didn't beat the spread

Sooooo Dickey going 1-13 wasn't directly responsible for the AshEville loss?

Surprisingly, no. A couple of very simple calls get made correctly and, at the very least, the last 2 minutes of the game play out very differently. When the announcers refer to a call as "impossible" for 3 people to all miss at once, that tells you just how egregious the the offenses were.

Ummm.....we're not all looking at the ball at the same time. That would be the fans. For officials, there are these crazy things called primary areas of coverage.

But in a full-court pressure situation where you have at most one player a side in the frontcourt, wouldn't at least 2 officials be covering the backcourt area?

Yes, but the play was going AWAY from the slot official, who is on the opposite sideline. All he could see was backside. He couldn't help. The lead official on the same sideline as Corbett was way too far down court to see it clearly as well. Ed was the only one that had a look at the play.

No. I'm still stunned you think a player going 1-13 doesn't affect the outcome as much as one or two missed calls. :dontgetit Dickey goes 4-13 that's at least another 6 points which would do more to dictate the game then anything else

In a full court press the T will be looking at the play in this situation. The C looks at secondary players and the new L will watch the deep players and be in position for a transition play. You on the other hand will be at home eating your nachos with hummus.

I haven't heard that many people say that call cost them the game. It DID cost them an opportunity to tie it.

Norfolk St getting hosed....should have been a foul on the other end. Replay showed an obvious and bad no call.

Wow, did the Norfolk St. player get both feet established in bounds there?

EDIT: Nope, it doesn't look like he did.

Yeah that's a split second reaction play, tough spot for the ref.

Man, other than a #2 losing, this tournament has been a snooze fest so far.

The play in games had the biggest overall comeback, and biggest 5 minute comeback in tourney history. Day 1 had the Syracuse/UNCA highway robbery, a very good VCU/Wichita St. game and the ending of Colorado/UNLV was great. Day 2 has already had 4 games go down to the wire (Texas/Cincy, Bama/Creighton, St Bonnie/FSU, NSU/Mizzou) with a #2 seed going down. What more do you want?
