By the way, have you guys ever seen Fab Melo play? They'll miss a few of his rebounds since they're pretty poor at rebounding anyway, but their defense will be just as affective and he was averaging like 8 points. It's not as big of a deal as everybody's making it out to be.

Kentucky, Missouri, UNC, FSU with Kentucky pulling away from FSU 73-61 to win it all.

FSU does seem to be the trendy darkhorse pick for the Final 4. People are having a really hard time letting go of the ACC-past. Ain't what it used to be, people.

Really? Does someone have to break down the last 10-15 years again? Duke-UNC are still at the top of the heap and FSU is joining them.

Here's a quote from blwall concerning UNC-Duke winning 14 of the 15 ACC tourneys prior to this year:

And in 10 of those 15 years, one of those two teams made the Final Four, & they combined for 4 National Championships. So, it's not like it's a fluke for them to get there. Can't really knock the rest of the conference when there are two teams consistently that strong.
4 national titles, 10 years in the final four, and the ACC ISN'T what it used to be? There's nothing wrong with the top of the ACC.

National Championships by conference over the past 15 years:
ACC 5 (Duke: '01, '10, Carolina '05, '09, Maryland '02).
Big East 4 (UConn: '99, '04, '11, Syracuse '03)
SEC 3 (Kentucky '97, Florida '05, '06)
Big 12 1 (Kansas '08)
Big 10 1 (Michigan State '00)
PAC-10/12 1(Arizona '98)

15 years prior to 1997:
ACC 4 (NC State '83, Duke '91, '92, Carolina '93)
SEC 2 (Arkansas '94, Kentucky '96)
Big East 2 (Georgetown '84, Nova '85)
Big 10 2 (Indiana '87, Michigan '89)
Pac 10 1 (UCLA '95)
SWC/Big 8/Big 12 1 (Kansas '88)
Other leagues 2: (Louisville '86, UNLV '90)

ALUmnus is right, the ACC isn't what it used to be...it's ever-so-slightly better.

I am right along that line with UK, Mizzou, and UNC, but I take Wisconsin in the East. I have UNC beating Mizzou in the finale, Cheatapari has got to choke somewhere....I still stay if UConn gets to play them, that will be one ugly physical game that UK will be lucky to win.

C'mon UNCA....represent our meager conference well!

I have Draymond Greene and the Sparty Boys (sounds like a failed rock and roll band name) beating KU as the Jayhawks spoil a potential rematch of the Veterans Day Classic by knocking off UNC in the Elite 8. Duke and Ohio State finish off my Final 4

The Syracuse defense is much, much worse without Melo. When UNCA is patient, they're picking it apart.

If UNCA gets to the under 16 media timeout with the lead, look out.....also, Dickey hitting that three before halftime may warm him up.....I know they are cocky and we normally can't stand them, but man I'd like to see them win.

I notice you keep saying "the top of the ACC". Two teams. Big thumbs up there. Again, not what it used to be.

Don't look now, but UNCA leads Syracuse at the half, 34-30.

I noticed you ignored the post about National Titles.

This is the dumbest argument I've seen here outside of the obvious troll posts. Having more National Titles in the last 15 years makes a conference worse than the 15 years prior? Having FSU beat the 2 teams at the top, multiple times each, somehow doesn't mean FSU has improved enough to be in the National Title picture? What?

All it took was a couple of bad calls that just "happened" to go in favor of Syracuse (remind anyone of things like Eric Montross kicking an LU player in the groin and not getting a foul) and Syracuse is finally starting to put a little distance in the score.
