Tech has side-by-side practice fields behind Lane Stadium and Cassell Coliseum. Not sure about UVa, but I think it's a similar setup.

UVA's practice fields are over behind the JPJ and U-Haul. Not sure how many they have though.

That's a LONG way from Scott Stadium. Do they just use Scott Stadium for game day?

It's really not that far, only a little over a mile. Why wouldn't they use Scott Stadium for gameday?

Nice. Yeah, if we are trying to sell ourselves to FBS leagues as a viable candidate then a bubble would be a strong sell showing our commitment.
Boo that. Lets build a real indoor practice facility. We are going big time right? Besides I don't think a bubble fits very well with a Jeffersonian theme.

Kinda serious above but I'd be happy with a bubble for now.
It does if you put Jeffersonian columns in front of it. Duh!

Cider, UVA' s football building is across from JPJ and has two turf practice fields. They will start construction on an indoor facility this year sometime.

In my opinion it's a waste, but sadly to get recruits it's something that just has to be done these days. It's all about the WOW factor.

Small time thinking. No offense but you've clearly never been to a big-time
place to see a football practice. Think about winter conditioning for one small example. Teams with no indoor space miss speed workouts because of snow. Not so with an indoor facility. Same goes for
Thunderstorms, lightning, etc.

But how many days does it snow around here? Maybe 4? If we were in the South, I get it. If we were in the North, I get it. But in Virginia? There's just no use for it. We have very nice weather in the fall and spring. And summers usually aren't too bad.

I've been inside West Virginia's indoor football complex. It's alright I suppose.

Other than that logic, I know you think we're ready to go FBS yesterday so let's just agree to disagree :D

I think it's a waste but hey if they build it so be it. It's not something I'll be too upset over lol

If it -

1. Helps recruiting
2. Shows a lower level FBS conference we're serious about athletics
3. Helps increase on field performance

How is it a waste?

VT has a field house used for an indoor track and football practice facility that has been around since the 1970s in addition to their practice fields beside Lane Stadium. They are planning an exclusive indoor football practice facility near their stadium but the location is currently a forest and the environmentalists are not happy about that.

UVA has the two turf fields across from JPJ. One of those fields will be replaced by the new indoor facility. The facility will have large doors that will open up to the adjacent practice field. They are hoping to have it ready by Spring 2013.

They are becoming a must have to compete in FBS. As was said, if even Duke has one for their football program everyone should.

I think it can only help our program. When inclement weather comes around they usually are stuck practicing in the indoor soccer fields. Only having those fields limits obviously limits what they can do at practice that day.

They're going to put this where the baseball stadium was going to go. Also, tearing Davids place down and putting baseball stadium there

I've adjusted my map accordingly. Also added more stadium seating for bball since we will be more competetive on the new surface. And I added a few roads so I don't have to walk so far. Someone tell the Chancellor there'll be no extra charge from me for that either.

The chancellor said that some slight changes have caused a delay. I think they are making sure they get everything right the first time.

hopefully the change involves a grass field...but I know it won't

Edit: In reference to the baseball stadium.
