The win at all costs mentality really stands out to me as the obvious thing we can take away from this situation. Winning football games was priority #1. The school's reputation was put on the line. How is LU any better than any other school that has felons representing it? Too bad it still wasn't enough to win the games that mattered. I, along with a lot of other people, lost a bit of respect for the school after the way this was handled.
I know you can say we need to wait and see what happens in January. I don't buy that. I'm all for due process and second chances (and third, fourth, fifth, etc.) as a student/human being, but the chance to represent the school is not part of that deal while felony drug charges are pending.
