Would think it would not go into play right away but this is something where the timing could have an effect on potential players coming in over the next two years.

Generally speaking, whenever this gets announced it wouldnt be for the upcoming season so it would have no effect on the players

I doubt we'd be moving to another FCS conference without involving all sports. I'd say 75% stadium expansion and 25% FBS conference move. I don't think this has to do with next years schedule seeing as it's concerning the, "future of the football program." That seems like more a long term move than a future opponent. I could be wrong though.

The announcement may just be our intentions... But I think its further along than that. The plane stopped off near WKU which is in the Sun Belt and just moved up in football in 2009. They've been talking expansion for a while and their football is near the bottom which makes them the most likely to take the gamble on us. We'll see.

Not necessarily. South Alabama announced the creation of their football program with a definite timeline for being in the Sun Belt conference. It could be a contract agreement with a conference to move up when the stadium expansion is done coupled with a timeline for the stadium expansion itself.

The post from Lang, coupled with the comments about the planes near WKU and SoCon headquarters, almost makes me think it's an agreement with App St. to move up together in a couple of years.
