@ClarkJudgeCBS: The Denver defense that was 1-4 with Kyle Orton is the same defense that's 6-1 with Tim Tebow.

And Orton is the definition of a mediocre QB.

I wouldn't say he's a better than average QB at this point. He has completed just 47.5% of his passes this year. Luckily for his QB Rating, he has thrown for 10 TDs and just 1 INT. Yesterday was the first time this season that he's thrown for over 200 yards. His skill is not as a passer, but as a guy who can scramble and occasionally make a good throw. Obviously he has a ton of heart and seems to will his teams to victory.

You can't knock the results. Something about him brings out the best in the rest of the team - offensively and defensively. Let's just not pretend that he's been beating anything more than mediocre-to-bad teams this year. His 7 starts have come against teams that are a combined 29-42 and their +/- is actually -1 in those games due to them getting blown out by the Lions.

wrong. the denver defense that was 1-4 didn't have much of their 2 pro bowlers. (dumervil and bailey). von miller has over the course of 6 weeks figured it out and is playing like an all pro. he looked like a rookie for 3 games.

its the over sensationalizing of this story that makes it awesome.

I also think Tebow's success has been a product of his opponents' futility and his defense's ability up until yesterday. That said, you basically contradicted yourself. You point out that the Patriots defense is ranked 32nd then stated that Denver wouldn't score more than 7 points because the Patriots are a real team. Which is it? I think the Patriots will crush Denver as well, but mostly because they have a high powered offense. I see the score being around 35-17.
I pointed out that you don't have to have a good defense to win games but it helps alot. Tom Brady could win with any team in the league. Heck, he could take Charleston Southern and beat Dolphins. That's Tom Brady though.

This debate keeps going around in a circle and I'm about done with it. Other than I will bet anyone on here my flames pass, that Tebow won't be winning games this time next year.

I agree. I was just making the point that you managed in one post to say that the Patriots' defense is terrible (which it is) and that the Broncos wouldn't score on them. Obviously Denver doesn't have a powerhouse offense, but against the worst defense in the league in a game where they'll likely be playing from behind, I expect the Broncos to put up a decent amount of points.

Apparently this Tebow kid is good with 3:00 or so left on the clock. Heading to OT.

Prater was hit with some of that Tebow magic as that field goal he hit was a career long

Prater with a 60 yarder (career long) to tie and a 51 yarder to win the game...

:nonono (that's the closest I could find to a shake my head smiley)

I dont know where he keeps finding this magic of his in the 4th quarter...

We must add... Marion Barber certainly helped.

Still, wow.

Also can I just add... Prater must be the best long distance kicker in the NFL.

I'm happy all the Broncos won. Just wish Tebow did something to have helped. Only 220 yds. Had an Int and didn't rush for 100 yds. Just imagine if Denver had a real QB! :D

Did you see his stats for the first 3 quarters? He tore it up in the 4th though.

They interviewed Demaryius Thomas after the game ....... he dropped a perfectly thrown TD bomb on the 10 yard line at a key point .... he said when he went back to the huddle Tim told him to not worry about it ... and to keep fighting .... you will win this game. Demaryius made an outstanding catch to get into field goal range. Tim makes the guys believe.

Ha ha!
I don't see how you can deny Tebow has a leadership quotient that can not be tangibly measured. Most teams would have given up after the onside kick failed.
