So whats your take on the guy? Everyone seems to have an opinion. His play is ugly, sometimes really ugly but he's 2-1 with the Broncos. He's Christian sometimes annoyingly so (at least to the media) but all his teamates seem to love him.

I think if he has a coach willing to build a system around his style he can make it work in the NFL. Mainly because he has some talent and will out work everybody.

I think Urban Meyer has to go down as one of the worst College QB coaches of all time

He'll turn out to be a serviceable QB if he can tune up his mechanics and find a coach who is gung-ho about him. He's a raw Doug Flutie, and throughout his career he'll probably be treated just like he was. Great people don't make great QB's. Winning doesn't make you a great QB....ask Trent Dilfer. He struggles to read defenses, and his delivery/accuracy need a ton of work if he's ever going to be able to play well in the pocket.

That's true, but he's had two years. What the heck has he been doing for two years? He has a job now, so he may have to put the scalpel away during his off-season.

He reminds me a lot of Ben Rothlisberger. (although he's not quite there yet of course). Doesn't do anything pretty or flashy, but wins. His first half against oakland was terrible, but when John Fox let's tebow grab the reigns and play his game, he suceeds. Still, tebow really threw some wounded ducks to wide open receivers, but denver has no offensive line to help him out.

I got NFL Sunday ticket free this year so Ive been able to watch a few of his games. I don't think he'll be that great of a QB, but he's a proven winner, and that's all that matters in the NFL. I'm rooting him on.

Just win, baby! That's the only thing that will get the talk to die down. I think he'll be fine as they don't expect him to throw for 250 every week. If he keeps running for 110 a game though, they'll love him down in Denver!

I admire the way he continues to carry himself. I keep waiting for someone to come out and say he blew them off or something but it never comes.

Tim doesn't have the right motion, but he can throw a spiral, Billy threw ducks. Tim can run, Billy waddled. Tim finds ways to win, Billy found a way to take the Redskins to their first super bowl.

his leadership and determination will keep him in the nfl a few years longer than he should be. but the guy has the ugliest mechanics that aren't being fixed and has issues with nfl speed. he can't read a defense. he has no pocket presence. he has trouble leading receivers. and he's going to fumble alot.

john fox isn't real thrilled that that is who he's trotting out there but will give it a shot. but don't be surprised that they draft more pro style qb.

dual threat qbs succeed in the nfl all the time. but they have to adapt their mechanics to the nfl or they already have the proper mechanics. tim doesn't. nfl speed is real. its the reason you don't see the triple option in the nfl.

The problem is if you build an offense around Tebow, you're all in. What OC or HC is going to put his job on the line? He'd have to get rid of some great players to bring in other players that fit the scheme, potentially crippling the franchise for a decade + if it doesn't work out or if something happened to Tebow. It's easier just to get a normal QB.

that has nothing to do with mechanics. that is something he should of been working on his jr/sr year of college. the reason he gets crapped on is that aside from those things you mentioned, he doesn't do the things that you should be able to do regardless of the scheme and regardless of the coaches.

Any decent NFL QB that's getting 39 attempts, is getting at least 250 yards. Tebow is an absolutely horrible QB. He could be a great fullback if he gained about 15 pounds and learned some blocking, but he'll never be a good NFL QB. Call me when he completes 60% of his passes in a game. Until then, Denver made a horrible decision to keep this guy while he had trade value.

Mechanics and schemes a re too different things. You can't discount the changes from college to pro and then from one OC to another
As far as mechanics you have a point. Although Kosar didn't have great mechanics either. IMO accuracy trumps mechanics and he is not very accurate right now

I call . Denver has no offensive line. At all. And if you actually watched the games, you'd know that's why his passing percentage is that bad.

Ben Roethlisberger has always had a bad O-line and look at what he's done. Cincy has a horrible O-line and they're in arguably the best pass-rushing division, yet Dalton is completing 61 percent of his passes. It's a myth that you need good WR's or a good O-line to be a good QB. Those things help but the good quarterbacks find ways to not get sacked and they make their receivers. If you honestly think Tebow is going to be a successful quarterback, fine. I won't mind laughing at you during the rest of his career.

You don't need a good O-line? Tell that to David Klingler. Dude got murdered every season of his career and is now known as one of the biggest busts ever. But everybody blames it on him and UH. Roethlisberger is certainly the exception to the rule. He is good at rolling one way or another and has always had the receivers that understood what to do when he scrambled. It's practically part of the game plan, where as most offenses are based on precision and timing. I will agree that you don't need good WRs but they take the offense to another level.


PS, Dalton has played against exactly 1 AFCN team this year and it's not the good ones. We'll find out a lot about that team in the next 4 weeks

you look at most hof qb's and a fantastic o-line is usually by their side. brady and manning have had some of the best offensive lines in football for the past 10 years.

i think tebow stinks and will fizzle out but he does have a pretty bad oline. from what i've seen though , he's put up plenty of wobbly ducks to wide open receivers when he's had time.

I'm not saying that all good quarterbacks have bad offensive lines or that an offensive line doesn't help. Manning and Brady certainly have great O-lines and it has definitely helped their success. However, even if they didn't have good offensive lines, they would still be really good quarterbacks. That's what I'm saying. Even just an above average quarterback like Eli Manning or Phillip Rivers does well without a good o-line. My argument is that Tebow is terrible because he's Tebow. I have a no excuse policy when it comes to the NFL. When you're only allotted so many positions and there is a shortage of great NFL players, you can't blame your success on the talent or lack thereof around you. Good NFL players make their own success. If Tebow is going to be good, he will do it because he did it. If he's bad, it's because he did it. A good quarterback adapts to situations, a bad one doesn't.

uh. the giants and chargers are some of the better offensive lines in like the past 5 years. the giants more so than the chargers. big ben is about the only guy in the past 5 years who has been consistently good with a line that can't stop the pass rush.
