I don't even know what you're arguing. First you're talking about all the thugs on the team, then you say we're not winning...

What are you trying to say? You go back and forth like my windshield wipers.

It sounds like you don't care if we have a bunch of felons on our team as long as we win. Or if we're not going to win, we need to have a bunch of "choir boys" on the team.

Let's just pretend that we have. Do you (flamefans4ever) not read the rest of the board? We're all frustrated/disappointed/depressed/banging head against wall because we're 1-3.

So, if we were 3-1, would you care that Asa was reinstated? Or that we have a bunch of "thugs" on our team?

Hard Answer: Bring some thugs into an atmosphere where you can build them up show them the gospel and try to change there lives all the while knowing that some of them will burn you and embarrass you.

Im sure that a 4.0 isnt needed, I was just backing up the point that BYD has been making (and apparently is not getting into your thick head) that Lehigh isnt a football factory...these are kids who happen to be good at sports but the vast majority of whom will probably go into the business world, education, medical school or any other area that is FAR from football

Agree we should kick out everybody who won't make a public statement of faith in Jesus Christ along with anyone who ever gets caught publicly sinning (or doing what Flamesfans4ever or I deems a sin).

We should probably go ahead and start our own commune too. I mean everyone has to graduate at somepoint right? (everyone awkwardly looks at BJ) and I don't want to associate with any of those wordly sinners once I leave LU. Actually now that I think about it why leave LU at all Liberty Ridge is beautiful up on top of the mountain and they already have a start. We can even have our defacto leader in the mansion down the road. It will be perfect and just like Jesus wanted with all us godly people hanging out on top of Liberty Mountain until He calls us home.

That was basically why Jesus was such big fans of the pharisees and wouldn't spend any time with lowely sinners. Glad we are on the same page.

I think somewhere in all of that he is inferring that Liberty has lowered their standards across the board as a result of this one incident or something...

It's scary but I think I actually DO get his point. The problem is not everyone agrees with the premise that we lowered admission standards for athletes. Im not sure I agree with that either because we have in practice , if not theory, an open admissions policy. If you can pay, or at least show good faith of payment, come on in.
The other problem is people disagree as to why Asa was put back on the team.
Therefore, if I may speak to ff2e point, he or she feels that it was a football decision based on the assumption that our football team would be better and win games. By not winning the game he played in( he only played in one and tomorrow doesn't really count) and if we don't win out then this was a bad decision both from the University's integrity AND from the football stand point.
Unlike me, they feel that even IF this reinstatement results in more victories on the football field, the cost to the University's integrity was too great.

Then why have LU....Why not just go to JMU and witness? The whole salt and light arguement.

People go (went) to LU because there is a common set of core values and beliefs that you would not find at JMU.

As a LU alum......I dont view LU as just another school....The school that I happened to go to. That is all JMU alum have in common with their school.

Their is a kindred spirit at LU....a sprit that I feel we are loosing. When I was there you could walk up to a random student and their was about a 99% chance that person thought basically the same way you did.....spiritually, politically, etc...

Are we becoming just a JMU....I HOPE NOT !!!
