But that's on the head coach!!! Get your staff in order. Clearly Rocco is perfectly fine with what he has. That's the issue.
Most head coaches aren't going to make those changes when they don't have to. They shake things up and move coaches around first (which we've done). Changing coaches completely generally doesn't happen until the AD steps in and tells them to make a move or they're next. If you need a recent example look at Coastal two years ago.
That's what happened at Lehigh after the 2009 season. Our OC was horrible, but the HC had brought him along when he came in from U of Penn. He wasn't tough enough on the QB, wasn't able to coach the position but was though of as a great 'strategist'. It didn't work and after three seasons of 5-6, 5-6 and 4-7, the AD (who is a former Lehigh QB) had a heart to heart with Coen. A new OC was brought in, and last year we go to the second round of the NCAA playoffs. Most of that offense is back again this year. Oh, the new OC? A former Lehigh All-American WR, Cecchini, who had been at The Citadel until they went to the wishbone. So that's how it happens.
As for today's game, you guys have a team with a lot of talented athletes, but you made more critical mistakes than we did, and we made a lot, too! Summers will be playing on Sunday next year. We could not deal with his height advantage gave him a lot of cushion. I think Brown tries to do too much at times. He has to stay with what works. I don't understand the long pass calls as he really does not have a long distance arm. Too much rainbow, but he's a heck of a run threat creates mucho problems for a defense. I hope those who travelled to the bucolic Lehigh Valley were treated well. We were impressed with how well you 'travel'. You had more fans on the visitors side than most Patriot schools we play..and they are much closer. Sorry we missed your band. I hope to catch them some other time. I do hear we are coming to Liberty either next year or 2013. Good luck the rest of the way. I think you should be able to win your conference. I saw some of Stony Brook beating Lafayette tonight and they showed some explosiveness on offense. That should be an exciting game.
As for the officiating comment...It did not cost you the game. Both teams suffered some questionable calls, but none of the TD's called back for either team were wrong. The players making such critical mistakes, this late in the season, should be concerning.
