Sorry to see this. Hope he gets his life straight. I also hope this is a one player issue...

WHY DID YOU NOT STOP THIS?????
Certainly other players must have known about this. Shame on them for not talking to Asa and trying to atop him.
Just awful.
Good one Asa. Hope it was worth it!!!

I know all of us are disappointed and it sucks that this happened but the choice Asa has made may affect more than just our game against NC State.
I know we're all upset, but more important keep this guy in your prayers. I hope this is a wakeup call for him. Football means nothing when we're talking about a man who needs our prayers and support.

If its true let him go and the rest of the team needs to buck up and play harder. It was his third or fourth chance. WVU and UVA passed on him because of grades. Then, even with legal trouble coming out of prep school, we still stuck by him. It kills me that he threw all of it away. I absolutely hate that for him.

People do dumb things and Asa Chapman did a very dumb thing. He should probably be dismissed from the team and from Liberty but that doesn't mean his friends, teammates, coaches, and fans give up on him as a person. His time as a player is probably done but as a 23-24 year old he has a long life ahead of him. This doesn't have to be the end of the road for him.

When is the last time the details of a Liberty athlete's arrest been made public. To this day most people don't have a clue even half of the athletes that have gotten in trouble. This would not be as public as it is if the charges weren't legit.

VBSF.net wrote:I was a big fan of his on the field. Most like watching Brown and Summers, I liked watching Asa move around and get in on just about every tackle. So this is a big disappointment for me as a fan.Which is true except for the majority of the football team lives off-campus from the moment they arrive at Liberty.
Asa came to Liberty for a second chance, where campus policies create and environment with virtually no peer pressure in that direction. I hope this is a life changer for him. I hope he finishes his education by transferring or studying online. My prayers are with him, the LU coaches and his family. He's young man with lots of time to man up and be successful in life.
From an LU football stand point ... if he's guilty the program needs to deal with it and move on. One student, one mistake can't stop a great thing. In fact dealing with it the right way can have a positive impact moving forward.

It's really all about getting connected with good influences as soon as you get here.
