We need to do this right. What are your suggestions?

I would love to see luxury suites on a second deck level. If we are being honest with ourselves, one thing we have not always done here at Liberty is build things right the first time, or build things with much thought to 20,30,50 years from now. Remember, in 10-15 years we're going to have 25k students on campus and we'll be competing for a national title in baseball well before that. Luxury suites would sell and would provide another revenue stream. Seating for 3,000 is fine now but this new stadium should be expandable to 6,000 without much trouble. The baseball operations center should take up some of the second deck/suite level - the coaches should have offices that overlook the field and the mountains to the west. The players lounge / locker room should be under the bleechers connected to the dugout. David's place should be torn down. It is outdated and an eyesore as it does not match the new architecture on campus.

Let us build this thing with Liberty's 100th birthday in mind, not our 45th. You could argue we haven't had the money in the past to do so and that is true, but the same cannot be said today.
We have the funds, let's do it right the first time with an eye towards the future, as 50 years from now they will thank us greatly for doing so.

I think that the sports facilities class ought to use this as a project, but as for what Id like to see:

1. chairback seating (not necessarily cushioned in the general seating area)
2. pressbox behind home plate to allow for full line of sight down first and third base as well as a state of the art video recording and replay system (so that when somebody makes a mind boggling play it can be shown again)
3. pitch speed monitor next to or integrated into the scoreboard
4. covered concourse with concessions (similar to City Stadium)
5. While I agree with logic's ideas about the luxury suites and the baseball operations center, I think if David's Place can be renovated to better reflect the Jeffersonian architecture of the changing campus, that would be better. there needs to be some homage to the past even as you look to the future and David's Place and the DeMoss family certainly have a history with the school.
6. As far as the clubhouse, I think that a setup similar to a MLB clubhouse would be better. I like the bullpens in the outfield like we have right now as well.

I'm sure that the Chancellor and the AD have thought of all these things.

Im sure they have too jbock, but I think logic wants to pick the brains of the guys here just the same and find out what theyd like to see (that can be plausibly done mind you)

99% of things on this board are here because it's fun to discuss them. Not because we think we're on some kind of committee that's going to decide things.

The 1% is obviously things that I post that the city steals and claims as their own.

+1!!!!

I LOVE outfield seating! Figure there won't be any room for it in left field thanks to the gargantuan scoreboard that we will have (that still shows the speed of the pitch BJ)... So right field seating wrapping around the first base line back behind home plate and down the third base line. Bullpens just like our current stadium. DEFINITELY get some luxury suites! That would be sick! Have a nice Jeffersonian entrance to the stadium with turnstiles... Fieldturf!! (yes I'm just getting greedy).

I dont know if they have one already but I think having a separate computer for stats for the broadcasters (Numbah1 Im sure would appreciate that) keeping a running box score (AB, H, K, BB, RBI, etc or hitters, PC, K, IP, BB, WP, HB, etc for pitchers) in the press box behind home plate that I suggested would be great to have too

Need suites. Need revenue. Need to go big-time here. Build for 50 years from now not 5. Love it. LU for life.
