LU has been awarded the #1 seed for the third straight year and will face #8 Gardner-Webb in the first round of the Big South tournament.
Now the bad news: Tournament is hosted by Winthrop and will likely face #4 Winthrop in the semifinals. Winthrop is the only Big South team to have beaten us this year. Should Winthrop lose to Coastal, that match is not a guaranteed W as the Chanticleers took us to 5 sets recently at their place.
We have the best team in the Big South. Hands down. Whether or not we win the tourney... that's a whole other thing. I'm not about to say it's a shoe-in because it's sports. Anything can happen. But this is one heck of a team, and they are young. Very young.
Lady Flames win their first game of teh 2010 Big South Volleyball Championship presented by Musco Lighting 3-0 over #8 Gardner Webb. they face the winner of the #4/#5 match between Winthrop and Coastal Carolina. Winthrop is the only team to have beaten Liberty this year and Coastal in the defending tournament champion
Liberty Class of 2009
2007 AND 2008 Big South Football Champions
2014 FCS Playoff Qualifier
Wow Coach Pinder must have lit a fire under them as they pull out game 4 25-22 after being down by 8. Went on a huge run and were able to hold off a rally to get the win. We seem to have all the momentum now and hopefully can keep it up.
Whew! What a game. We win 17-15 Back to back service aces in a row from Karly Bacon and we finally beat Winthrop. We pulled out that last one after being down big as well.
What a come back ON THEIR COURT! With a Freshman calling the shots on the court leading them. Wow....that was insane....wish I was there.

I think that we are playing Hot Point today for the championship. They have a decent team and gave us some fairly competitive games so it should be a challenge for us.
