It was a pretty good-sized crowd, although a big chunk of them were upperclassmen :) We were up to hear the band (of which our son is a part 8) ) and of course to get another glimpse of the football team. The students were pretty pumped until Allen York started singing "Fan the Flames" OMG, stick to broadcasting, dude!!! LOL Granted, it's a tough song, but OH MY!! But it goes to show that HE has the LU spirit!!! (Way to Go, Allen)

Here is a link to a few pics (on my facebook) that I took with my cell camera at the event:

The first couple of shots looking toward the FOC were taken from the new bleachers on the student side in front of the newly added handicapped section.

it was freshman and student leadership at the cookout. so 3,500+ freshman and around 2,400 upperclassmen.

Jeff Barber gave is annual don't cheer for UT or UGA or UF or OSU because you don't go there. when you graduate your degree wont say those schools, it'll say liberty. cheer for your classmates. I love that he does that.

the new play by play guy led the activities and he was decent i guess for having to teach freshman stuff that he hasn't really had time to learn himself. he tried to sing the fight song along with the band and, although he has a great talking voice, I never want to here him attempt to sing again. also I'm pretty sure the words they printed to the fight song that they handed out to the freshman (who were eager to take them only because they were being handed out by the cheerleaders) were off in some spots. the omission of the word "navy" in front of blue, and it said "let the fire in you name set your courage aflame" instead of "set the spirit aflame". Alan York did not know this and taught everyone the wrong words.

the first down chant is still my favorite thing that we do, and im glad we teach it to the freshman, along with the start of the game festivities.

This.

That was pretty pathetic not going to lie. With upper-classmen singing the correct version and Alan York+ Freshman singing the distorted version, it sounded pretty badly. Although, I'm sure this will be ironed out by the first home game. Still, it was bad lol

When people on a message board have to think about reminding a TV network about a NCAA DI football game kickoff time change, you get the idea we aren't exactly "there" yet.

And when people on a message board assume that they're actually breaking new ground when they consider such things, as opposed to the professionals who have done these things at the highest level, you get the idea that those posters aren't all "there" themselves.

Ya, no need to yell. They should be bringing in anywhere around 3-5k extra seats. There is a lot of room around the endzones to put plenty of extra seating.
