i mean....whats the point of the tourney? to crown a champion....thats it. we have had 1 11 in the history of the tourney win. the rest are 7 seeds and down. we will just be adding teams who will eventually lost to the 1-4 seeds....

The difference is there has grown to be a much larger number of FCS teams over the past decade and there are conferences that meet the requirements but did not get an automatic bid. With the NCAA tournament, every eligible conference gets an automatic bid already.

Apples and oranges. In basketball, EVERY conference champ gets an auto to the playoffs. That's not the case with FCS football, and still won't be with this expansion in 2010.

He's "confused" to say the least. What he is describing is the way it is already. Adding teams would make it possible for a team like Coastal, which has had an excellent season, to get a bid if they were upset by someone like Winthrop in the conference tournament.

I'm going to have to operate under the assumption that you don't realize how much money people make off of college basketball. If the tournament was only about crowning a champion it would probably be 8 or 16 teams
