I'm sure that has been stAted before but I cannot wait to see the finished product of the stadium being completed. With the long term plan of having the stadium expanded to 60,000 seats I smell a transition to I-A football in the near future. I mean in the near future like we have completed the 30,000 seat stadium. I am just as excited as everyone is on here.I do not have any evidence to base my statement on but it is obvious with facilities expansion of this magnitude it's obvious that it's not in liberty's interest or Intention to stay in the I-AA arena. Given that we have a succesfull program I coming years and attracting talent at higher caliber with facilities FBS quality facilities like were going to be constructing IMO.

If we have the money, we will definitely be looking to move up. But just so you don't have too lofty expectations, that will probably not happen for another 10-15+ years. And the addition of 30,000 more seats won't come until after we're FBS.

the liberty website says that Phase one also includes 1800 seats on the east side. Where will those go?

I don't believe for a second that we will be in FCS in 15 years. I doubt we will in 10. Regardless of what is said now.

Like I had said that when the completed product of the 30,000 seat stadium and given that we have a successfull football program it puts us in a spot that gives others outside the LU community that our intentions are not to continue to be an FCS program. My definition of a successfull football program is to continually make it to the playoffs and possibly being a national champion within these next few years. I also include in this definition is beatng our scheduled FBS opponents show thAt we can compete with that caliber of teams and talent. And not ommit recruting high level talent that keeps our skill positions always ready to play that type competition. It would be nice to keep a gem of coach like Rocco to get us there. Man what a turnaround he has made for
our program. And come on, what FCS programs has a 30,000 seat stadium in thier campus or in the works like us besides Delaware, Montana state,U of Montana, and JMU. This is most definitly not an exhaustive list of programs. Besides it's just a hunch I have a d that's probably all it is. Withthis autobid in the BS, coaching staff, talented players, and outstanding FBS facilities in the works the sky is the limit and we could really be a great force to reckoned with even more than we are now. And if your thinking I have drank the koolaid, no I have not.

does anyone know if the deck that they are building in phase one is going to hang over the lower one? or is it going to consecutively go up? cause i see that it is going to be above the bottom one.

no, I don't think that it's going to hang over. It's going to continue a little bit beyond where the current seats leave off. But it obviously won't be resting on a hill like the current stuff is so it'll need that support

I'm sure that this new stadium will attract people from all over such an accumulation of more people throughout the community, the student body, and the band have always had their section on the baptist side. I'm not sure that they would be moved to another area. It would be cool for them to be in a corner where the whole stadium could hear them and opposing team especially. I have to agree with you that the anticipation is killer lol. I am also waiting for Cal Poly's football stadium to open up for the upcoming season as well. I have grown around cal poly football throughout my childhood and since I live an hour south of San luis obispo I would like to catch a game up there sometimes. I cannot wait to see LU's stadium open up for the season it has been awhile since I have been to the da burg to catch a game. I will hopefully make time this year to fly this year from Cali.

lost my response to this yesterday. I'm pretty sure we had some high-level meetings in ATL a while ago where Mr. Williams agreed to fund the whole project; the money to be released incrementally as the various phases/stages progress.

I seem to remember the Texan hinting at it and annoying everyone.
