I remember hearing from someone at TRBC that they did a series on financial stability or something like there and never taught on tithing. I could be wrong, but that could be part of the problem. It'd be interesting to see the average attendance of TRBC against the average tithe per week.
I don't know what it's been like for the past year, but Dr. Falwell used to be HUGE on tithing. They'd have a tithing dinner every year where the members would make a commitment as to how much they would tithe. And Doc ALWAYS put his money where is mouth was.
Me and my dad talked a few years back about how LU being out of debt could be a curse for TRBC because when he was in school in the 70's as well as the times in the 80's and 90's Doc always reminded people to take care of the students and tithe more and everything, But that seemed to die off a little in the 2000's and completely when Jonathon took over.
Like think about all the convo's where an LU alumni from the 70's or 80s spoke, they always talked about God providing this and that through someone in the church or whatnot, but you rarely hear those stories anymore
